I"m a big fan of Jen Mercado and saw the movie already. Gosh, sobrang ganda and so funny! Even my nephew whom i'm with to watch it were also laughing his heart out in some scenes. Truly, this movie deserves all the acting and production awards at the recent MMFF awarding. Kudos to the whole cast and crew of EOP! Planning to watch it again this week!
i just watched this movie and by golly i am so thankful i did!!! So many nakakatuwa moments - no dramatics, no melodrama, not a moment wasted watching the movie - ang gaan panoorin. Derek & Jen deserve their best actor awards & likewise with best director & best screenplay. I have recommended it to my friends...watch it guys!!!

I feel you, although I love Jen. I don't like Derek, I think he is not swak for the role. Sana yung natural na hirap sa tagalog ang kinuha. Tama ka. Mukhang maganda ang movie na ito. Kakaiba ang feel at very interesting. Kakaiba rin sa mga usual. Having good actress/actors and having good directors are all good in making movies, but if the story suck, no one is going to get interested in the movie, so you must also have a good writers. The writers for this movie did a good job. It's a very interesting and engaging story that is also kakaiba sa mga usual. I hope they make more stories for movies. I'll be keeping an eye for more of their movies.

As a male who barely watch Pinoy love story movies (because of often rinse-and-repeat-cash-grab formula based story telling by Star Cinema), the film "English Only, Please" offered a better yet new taste of good story telling and excellent direction that happens once in a blue moon involving nationwide released Philippine movies. When I first saw the poster of "English Only, Please" (before having the idea of watching the film) alongside the other MMFF entries, I concluded that it will be on the bottom list of grossers due to lack of promoters and minimal number of interested movie-goers for an lesser known production company. Then when I managed to watch the awards night, I was shocked that the film grabbed too many MMFF awards. Something triggered in my movie-lover mind that THIS film could actually provide an excellent quality time AND YES, IT WAS WELL WORTH! I laughed countless times such that despite going inside the cinema alone, I did not hesitate to laugh out loud together with my seatmates in the movie house (despite being strangers to each other). That's how powerful this film is. It broke the boundary of being natural to the viewers that everyone never thought it was a simple movie, but AN EXPERIENCE. A well deserved one and kudos to the director and writers of this amazing film "English Only, Please". You deserve my money and respect. -Kevin "Army"

The Board found it to be a light comedy that has delightful moments. The romance will undoubtedly be eaten up by the masses who perhaps will even relate to the situations in the film. It is a romantic comedy that is bubbly and cheerful. The direction is clean, efficient and inspired. Director Dan Villegas handles the material with competence and delivers a credible film. The script is very amusing. It is wholesome and refreshing. It has a special charm of its own. It is definitely a crowd drawer. Some scenes leave a smile on one's face because they are sincere and endearing. The technical elements are all par for the course. In the acting department, everyone agreed that Jennylyn Mercado is a revelation. She does very well and manages to invest her role with panache. Derek on the other hand, is so endearing. The pairing works! Derek and Jennylyn hit it off beautifully. Derek shines and charms. A new comedienne is born in Ms Mercado. The film is highly entertaining. steamyboy69 when you shoot for a more or less 2 hour film, you can have materials from 3 to 4 hours long and then the editor and the director work hand in hand to come up with the final film. that is the director's cut. the person who makes the trailer on the other hand, is a member of the promo team. he/she chooses what scenes to utilize, to best market the movie. thus, it is not unusual for scenes in a trailer, not to be in the final cut of the movie.

Guys hindi po lahat ng nandito sa TRAILER ipapalabas sa MOVIE. Ganun na ginagawa ng lahat ngayon. Kaya nga tinotodo na nila yung trailer panghatak sa audience.

Don't blame GMA and its artists (especially DongYan because they have nothing to do with this production) for not having rigorous TV promotion of this Film. It's the job of the film outfit and producers to pay for TV airtime. I am still going to watch this film though.
I'm not really a Pinoy movie person but I really liked this movie a lot. Can't say that I can relate though but I found it very endearing and funny most of all. Technically I can vouch that it was shot well, the sound was good too. This can very well rival any good American rom-com. I'd put it (IMHO) beside Going The Distance, 50 first dates, Begin Again (not exactly a rom-com) and Serendipity. In the last 3 years I've watched a few MMFF films and I would dare say that the Filipino movie industry is slowly rising again as it very well should already.
THUMBS UP for Ms Jennylyn Mercado and for the whole team of EOP!!!...A feel good movie to watch this christmas...How i wish i can watch here in Kuala Lumpur!!!...Congrats Quantum Films!

This movie deserves the number 1 spot sa MMFF 2014 sa totoo lang! Perfect movie to watch! RomCom ito pero mas nakakatawa pa to sa Praybeyt Benjamin na sobrang corny ng trailer. I thought pag si Vice it's gonna be a laugh trip movie pero sad to say di talaga ko natawa kundi NA-CORNIHAN talaga! pramis! ENGLISH ONLY PLEASE IS THE ONE. :D ALAM NYO YAN. Mas big stars lang kasi yung bida sa ibang entry pero REAL TALK eto talaga ang malupet!

Don't blame GMA and its artists (especially DongYan because they have nothing to do with this production) for not having rigorous TV promotion of this Film. It's the job of the film outfit and producers to pay for TV airtime. I am still going to watch this film though.

I'm not really a Pinoy movie person but I really liked this movie a lot. Can't say that I can relate though but I found it very endearing and funny most of all.
Technically I can vouch that it was shot well, the sound was good too.
This can very well rival any good American rom-com. I'd put it (IMHO) beside Going The Distance, 50 first dates, Begin Again (not exactly a rom-com) and Serendipity.
In the last 3 years I've watched a few MMFF films and I would dare say that the Filipino movie industry is slowly rising again as it very well should already.
