    I’ve worked with children like this who have had behavioural issues. They’ve become like this because they think they have to look after themselves and can’t trust any adults and have to always be in control. Makes the world a very scary place. I see lots of parallels with the emotions. It’s fear because they think no one is looking after them completely.

      Their is no similarities you can see similarities in any animal if you look hard enough stop humanising dogs it’s not good for them or us

      @dndkillaztreble5317 I work with children and teens who are super reactive and aggressive BECAUSE they've been hurt or harmed or scared. Stop dehumanizing kids to fit your narrative. Pretty sure we know more than you do on the matter, my guy

      @@dndkillaztreble5317I use some concepts that will teaches about dogs on my personal children. Works really well. Lots of similarities. Children want to look up to a loving adult for guidance and direction as well as dogs. It makes the space feel safe.

      @@dndkillaztreble5317 I agree this is where we get problems with many dogs, they are a dog not a human nothing more.

    For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it! ❤️💕

    "Can I Fix.." Yes. Yes, you can! Is there anyone doubting that? :) Great video as usual. I am learning so much. Sadly, not enough to understand what happened with my dog, since this was a dangerous form of aggression (No warning. No signs. From calm and happy to 'I end your life!'. Once with me, once with another shelter worker after we knew that he had to go back as we do not have any form of experience and we can't take the 4 - 8k Euro on costs just to hope that someone get's why the dog does it and a third time after the Shelter wanted to muzzle-train the dog.
    Three times the dog attacked out of a calm and playful state (Yes, first time he was calm. Second time he was playing. Third time we werent there) and not just 'I bite and let go'. No, we talk 'I attack and if I don't hit, I'll keep on going until I can bite and I will hold on until you're going down'. Nobody yelled at the dog, nobody was angry at the dog and luckily the shelter had someone who can fix aggressive behaviours. We're unsure if they can fix this specific one.
    We are not that experienced handles and if we knew (even the Shelter didn't know) the dog would attack or had a bite history, we would not have taken him. We can deal with a lot of things but that was way out of our league. Probably the pre-owner lying to the shelter so they would take him in... Such a wonderful loving dog, that makes this so unbelievable horrible. The dog loved humans, loved to play, loved to follow directions, quick work on obedience, loved to snuggle. But deep down in the dog was a trigger waiting to happen. Now we have to wait to get new informations...
    My wound finally healed, as well as the wounds the others had (deep bite wounds... and one got a dislocated thumb)... The one wound that doesn't heal is the one that missing him but I still fear him too - paradox.
    Stay crunchy.

    My reactive rescue is muzzled for vet visits as a precaution.(I believe that she is afraid by the small exam rooms, the white coats, the people coming and going and the dogs barking.) She has never bit but she can "snap" out of fear. I find that she completely shuts down when the muzzle goes on. I am curious as to why this happens? Will you have been the "game changer" in my training of my rescue and I cannot thank you enough.

    I have a mother son bonded pair Of Catahoula, leopard dog. The male dog is very aggressive with anyone who comes to the door and he will not allow anyone in the house. The mama dog allows people in the house, but then she chases them and tries to nipped them. I am, at my wits end I don’t know what to do.

      Will Atherton courses are great. But, in my opinion, you need to get in touch with a good dog trainer, specialist in dominant dogs behaviour.
      Good luck!

    • @ciani2396
      @ciani2396 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like the mom is herding the people. I would definitely recommend one of his training courses to help deal with that and the other ones aggression. Don’t do “dominant” dog training, it doesn’t work and can also make aggressive behaviors worse.

      The first thing you need to do is create teaching opportunities. Maybe one at a time at first. I'd start with the mother. Because for me it seems easier & you can use her to role model the correct behaviour when teaching the son. Firstly when someone comes to the door, grab her by the collar, then have her sit. Once she is sitting nicely, open the door. Do not let go of her collar, keep her sitting. Reward her when she stays sitting & quiet. When she doesn't, stop the process & have her sit again. Have your guest enter & walk into another room. You are still holding her collar keeping her sitting. You want her to focus on sitting nicely & not your guest. Once she is doing that, reward her. Then wait a minute, then walk her past your guest, holding her by her collar at all times to have control, & then put her outside. When walking her past the guest, the aim is to have her walk past nicely. The second she starts to misbehave, you pull back on her collar & have her sit. Then wait for her to be sitting nicely again, then continue walking her outside. Do this as many times a day as possible. Doing this teaches her that guests are not a threat, you are showing her the right way to behave. You are rewarding her when she does. & When she starts behaving badly you are stopping her in her tracks & redirecting her back to the acceptable way to behave.
      I have two Huskies, so I use this method of teaching allot. I find grabbing the collar & having them sit at the first sign of their bad behaviour is easier than once they are fully engaged in the bad behaviour. Once they are doing it, it becomes much harder to get them to sit. I literally have to grab the collar & make them focus on me & my command.
      I live in Melbourne, here, if my dog bites someone, it would be seized by authorities immediately, put down & I'd be facing criminal charges, I'd also be banned from owning another dog. So it is my responsibility to protect my animals by ensuring that they know the right way to behave

    My dog is absolutely lush with humans especially kids. Hes great with female dogs... but other unneutered males . OmG he loooves fighting. Loves it. So never off leash without muzzle on unfortunately...
    Maybe neutering him may help 🤔

    • @DeanSmith3935
      @DeanSmith3935 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alot of people seem to think neutering makes dogs less reactive,
      everbody in the business I've spoken to say it can also make them more aggressive just stops them chasing and sniffing females and can't be reversed,
      unless you try the 6mth implant.

    • @towpottsfam7631
      @towpottsfam7631 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DeanSmith3935 yes tried the Implant and he attacked less dogs when muzzled and on implant. T definitely isn't a nervous thing. But he's now learnt to fight in muzzle...

    I have a Siberian husky male and I’m unsure if he’s being dominant or if he might just be scared or what but when he doesn’t get what he wants he will snap at me, (I’m 4’11 and he could easily really endure me) but I do not want to have to rehome him, I really want to be able to help him because I love him. Any advice??

    I am so done with my 7 pound chihuahua's reactivity. He wats to attack every dog he see's. All my neighbours with dogs hate us. I don't have a.yard and have to walk him but I am at so done with his reactivity and just moments ago I lost my sh*t on him during our walk. I have done all the right tings, I take this dog with me all over the world, he's never alone and so I just don't understand why he is like this. I am actually really sad about this. This is my first dog and I never dreamed I would have a dog like this. On a positive note, he loves people. Ive had him for 9 years.

      I found it under this video in the video description. I clicked "More" under the video and there was a link on the info that dropped down. It took me to a page to enter my name and email and gave me the option to choose the same day, the next day or the day after. The video should be 50 mins long. ❤
