Nice detailed video. Most videos are..."We did it, had a lot of issues but here it is all done...what do ya think" Thanks for showing exactly how its done.
Recently dropped my 03 Silverado with IHC 4/6 kit. Previous owner had drop shackles while I was installing kit noticed shackle bushing were worn out. I feel every bump on the road need to replace ASAP.
Looks nice I like that stance, I had a 2/4 drop on mine and put it back to stock height with new MOOG springs, and Shackles and left the 2” hangers but hate how it literally sits dead level on all 4 wheels so hopefully i’ll be installing the stock hangers and then 2” shackles.
I did this early into the build as something cheap to get it near level. It rode good and looked much better IMO as well. I have since done a IHC 4/6 drop which has it sitting 👌🏻. The videos of that are here on the channel as well.
@whiplashtv2022 did the stock rear shocks still work with this drop shackle? And you think keeping the stock shocks would affect ride quality? Thanks in advance
Yes, if you have a flip kit, then you can run drop shackles. You will just have more of a drop and ride lower. You will also ride a little closer to your C Notch.
@@Tylerzee00 all that I had to do is remove a bit of the plastic behind it. It is the solid piece of plastic that is below where the pin is installed. You can kinda see it in the headlight video.
It sounds like you put the top bolt in backwards, and the upper bolt is hung up on the frame. When you have it jacked up and take the top bolt out over the top of the frame, you have to put it back in the same way from the top of the frame, sliding through towards the outside of the vehicle. Otherwise it will not clear.
@@whiplashtv2022 I put it the same way I took it out, for reason it’s just stuck up there and when I took off the bottom bolt the leaf spring shot up hard asf like if there was a lot of pressure and dented the bed and now it just doesn’t want to go down
@@whiplashtv2022 I also have everything lifted properly, Jack stands on the frame and I put the floor jack on the pumpkin and then lower it and nothing happens, leaf springs stay stuck up there touching the bed

Yeah that would definitely ride poorly

@@whiplashtv2022 are you able to provide any insight on how the 4/6 performs with putting stuff in the bed?
It performs fine as long as it isn’t super heavy. The limiting factor is when the axle starts bumping the c notch on big bumps and a heavy load.
Very helpful video, much appreciated!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
EXCELLENT video! VERY helpful!
Thank you!
Another great how-to video from Whiplash
Thanks a lot!
@whiplashtv2022 did the stock rear shocks still work with this drop shackle? And you think keeping the stock shocks would affect ride quality? Thanks in advance
Yes, stock shocks work absolutely fine with drop shackles as long as they are in good working order.
Looks good man, thanks for sharing.
Thanks
👍 how have the shackles held up? Thinking about buying them
They have held up great!
Hey man its kind of late but what window tint was on this truck ????
25% on the front windows and 0% on the back window.
@@whiplashtv2022 thanks man I have the same truck im going to do tint lights everything i just dont know to lift or lower
@Wab2007 I vote lower if 2wd and raise if 4x4.
@@whiplashtv2022 alright thanks man

Looks nice 👍
Thanks! Check out the new video of the 4/6 drop on it now. You might like that even better!
how did you lower the front
In this video the front is stock. Later I did a 4/6 drop. Here is the front install video.

Would the shackles work if e axle was flipped?
Yes, if you have a flip kit, then you can run drop shackles. You will just have more of a drop and ride lower. You will also ride a little closer to your C Notch.
why turn the bracket so the zerk faced forward
That is the direction that hangers go. So the grease zerk is facing that way because that is where they drilled the hole at.
What did them rims come off of and what size tires?
They were off of a newer Chevy Tahoe around a 2018 year model. I can’t remember the exact tire size. Something like a 265/60/18
Will This work on 2wd extednbed
Yes
Would this work on a crew cab v8 4x4? I wanna order this and put it on?
Yes it will. I recently installed a 2” drop shackle on a customer’s 2015 GMC Crew Cab 4x4 actually. Turned out great.
@@whiplashtv2022 what did you use to trim that plastic behind the bulb I ran into the same issues installing them yesterday
@@Tylerzee00 I believe that I used a drill bit and drilled into the plastic, and then used it to router out the hole to the size that I needed.
@@whiplashtv2022 I got worried drilling into the plastic is it hollow ? I’ll have to try that

What did u use on the front
Nothing at that time. I have since done a 4/6 IHC lowering kit. There are complete videos here on the channel of the installation.

Wat ball joints are u running
At the time of this video they were stock, but now the truck has a IHC Suspension 4/6 drop and different ball joints shown in those videos.
@@whiplashtv2022 yeah I have lowering control arms n my ball joint are gone bad n i was going to get stock oem ball joint but I guess they won’t fit
@@misaelramirez2621 if stock doesn’t fit then that will take some figuring out as too what will. You might check with Moog.
Umm I lowered the rear end to line up the bottom bolts of the shackles and the leaf springs stay up 😐I need help 😂

@@justincarrillo9228 I have never had one shoot up like that. That is pretty wild. Is something going on with the driveshaft and the rear end?
@@whiplashtv2022 I don’t think so but I just realized it has a lift block on it, could that be why? Lol it’s like a 2 inch lift block
What grease did you use ?
Lucas multi purpose
What Tire size is that?
265/65/18 I believe. Whatever comes on those 18” wheels from the factory. I now have 275/45/20 on it with a 4/6 drop.
Use 1inch hangers to eliminate that pesky one inch rake
I went ahead and did a 4/6 drop to handle that 1” 🙌🏻
Is the front oem suspension?
Yes, stock front suspension in this video. Later on I did a 4/6 drop. The videos of that is here on the channel.
