i can't belive this shit... i had a class with this guy last year (he is now a economy teacher on a federal brazilian university) and now i'm watching his interview on fucking MTV on 90's, damn this is incredible!
Awesome. Classic metal gem. Thank you for posting it. Really appreciated. There needs to be more interviews by this band. This interview has already been posted but this one has better quality. Also, Wager's triple thrash selection is awesome but it's also interesting that he chose a Sepultura video despite him dissing Sepultura. It needs to be said that it's totally false about Sepultura wanting to be the only band from Brazil. If you own any of the old Sepultura album booklets, that band has endorsed bands like Ratos De Parao and Dorsal Atlantica who are actually Brazilian bands. Wager's comments are actually due to the fact that he was part of an early lineup of Sepultura and they had a really bad falling out. I've seen a video of this but it's in the Brazilian language. Anyway, great video. Hail Sarcofago.
***** Interesting. You're totally right.Max actually said in the Under Siege video "we used to go to shows and spit on the other bands." I say it's totally good that they stopped because extreme metal has and can only survive on bands and fans supporting each other and not childish rivalries. Hail metal unity.
@@Chuloloc imagine that nirvana becomes the first band from Seattle to reach mainstream and when they are asked if there are other bands from their city they say "no. It's only us". Then when asked if there are some bands from the USA that they like they say "Oh yes, we really support some very good bands from our country, there are some great bands there like: sonic youth, red hot chilli peppers and anthrax" You can't deny that they praised some bands from their country But they consciously avoided mentioning the ones from their city while there was a whole movement being born there. They were aware of their existence, they knew every band member in person, made concerts together for years, even split an album with one of them Sepultura have being dissing bands from Belo Horizonte since the first international interview they gave When asked if there were other bands in their city, instead of mentioning the other bands, or just saying "yes, there are." to the question, they straight said "No. We are the only ones" When asked if there are other bands they like, they mention Dorsal Atlantica, Ratos de Porão e Korzus which are bands from other states (just like people from Seattle mentioning bands from NY and LA) The bands that Belo Horizonte gave birth in the 80s at around the same time were Sepultura, Overdose, Sarcófago, Kamikaze, Chakal, Sextrash, Holocausto, Mutilatior, whichhammer... they were all from the same city, all playing together in the same concerts in Belo Horizonte, all creating together the new genre of heavy metal (mostly trash/death/black, but also symphonic, prog...) That's what happened haha. The beef was strong specially between Seputura and Sarcofago, but they also had some animosity with overdose aswell. You can even find on youtube a video where Overdose is playing in some kind of festival when suddenly all their equipment is muted in the middle of the song. It was Gloria - Max's wife - who unplugged their equipment, they would do those kind of things consistently with those bands back in the day
Wagner has always been talented but it seems that never stopped accuse their previous band. He should never have stopped, I think the abandoned titude of his music was something rash.

Wagner has a terrible english as well as he was a cables thief when in Sepultura lol He complaint about Sepultura want to be the only brazilian metal band however he did not said ONE brazilian band's name.

Yes, long time since I've heard something of Sarcofago. A nice gesture that he chose Sepultura, I think.
Roman Muster In a way, it's kind of hypocritical because he chose a Sepultura video yet, sort of dissed Sepultura.

They also endorsed bands like Korzus and Overdose.
