Sifu, I understood your words (I think), but not your meaning. When you said focusing your mind so that the energy goes to the tip of your sword, do you mean a kind of visualization or just being self-aware in mindfulness? To me they both seem to be different things but either could apply to your description. Visualization might be imagining light or some other image of your energy travelling along the length of the sword from your hand to the tip. Self-awareness/mindfulness would just mean being mentally aware and in the present with each movement or moment of stillness. Thank you again for the online help that you provide.

Interesting. I would naturally have thought your intent, or your mind, when practicing the sword would go into the part of the blade being employed depending what kind of cut you are practicing.
The tip for thrusts or dipping cuts, yes, but other parts of the blade for other cuts, slashes, lifts or parries, etc.
Is it, in your experience, beneficial to be mindful of what part of the sword is being used or are there other benefits to always extending energy and intent to the tip, can you elaborate a little bit?
Thank you and once again, interesting proverb and thanks for sharing!

Yes, different part of the sword needs different types of mindfulness.

Master Hai, thank you for this interesting teaching. Can you carry this practice of "sending energy" to the sword's tip into ba gua or xing yi sword, or is it purely a practice in tai chi?

Yes, can be applied to Xing yi and Ba Gua depending on the movements.

First I learn all the movements of the sword, after learning the movements, in training I must give priority to mental control of the sword so that the beginning of each technique is mentally elaborated and then expressed in the body movement, especially in the upper limb that perform movements with the sword? Is my rapproach correct, or should it be subject to correction?

can you give more explanation on how to train the mind in this practice?
i'm still confused about the relation between training until your arms sore and the mental effort.

training until your arms sore, but the mental effort doesn't allow you to stop and the training continues just because the HEAD is stronger than the pain!
During the race this mental posture is notorious, for example if halfway through the route (where there are no taxis, Uber, etc. that we can call, we are exhausted, but we have to return to the point where we started, otherwise we won't get home at all, and the legs continue to run...
