Something that really makes those #1 rifles stand out is that 1/4 rib at the rear of the barrel. I just had a Ruger M77 re-barreled and wanted a quarter rib rear sight but it was too expensive for my budget. I don't think I will ever buy another rifle that does not have open sights to use if I want to. The banded front sight is attractive to me because some of the most beautiful rifles ever built use express sights.
I bought the 6.5x55 stainless RSI model and installed a Skinner rear sight. Such a pleasing gun to shoot. And beautiful to boot. It seems to like the PPU 139 gr. FMBT ....
From another old Lipsey boy, love the newest additions to the Lipsey exclusive line. Still looking for the 1A in shorter LOP youth stock in 7mm-08 or 6.5 Crdmr for the perfect “1st deer rifle.”
I had a Ruger #1 in .416 Rigby. Amazing caliber. Sako are good weapons too. Back then, I had a Sako 375 H&H converted to the 404 Jeffery caliber by a Nuremberg gunsmith. A .416 Rigby would not have fit into the system. At that time, such weapons were not yet common, even in America. I went hunting in the Czech Republic in the 90s with a Ruger No. 1 with Mannlicher stock and 20" barrel and caliber 7x57mm. I shot a roe buck there at 180 m. 7x57 is a good hunting cartridge. I also had a pre-war Mauser in 7x57 (1937). But actually I was a target shooter and one shot was enough. I am a German from Franconia and now live in Thailand.
As for mild recoil, I once got a dandy black eye shooting woodchucks with a genuine Swedish Mauser, one that had been made for Germany for use in WW II. I was about twelve years old.
I have a Ruger # 1 talo edition in 44 mag, topped with a Leopold 2 x 7 scope and it is one of my favorite deer rifles along with my Ruger 44mag carbine.I have never had to follow a blood trail more than 150 yards when I shot a deer with either gun.
I have three Ruger #1s two of which are stainless with salt and pepper laminated stocks one in 300 Win Mag and one in 375 H&H. The third one is blued and walnut in 458 Lott. I also have an M77 compact that is stainless. So I absolutely love Ruger in stainless. Keep building them guys!
Ruger#3 is seldom mentioned. Great little rifle. Not as aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. There is something to be said about the beauty of simplicity although. Regardless NICE 👍!
Ruger No 1 international in stainless I come across here is very nice rifle. In 6,5x55 my favorit hunting caliber but would be glad to take this in .257 Roberts as well. Very sad that is no longer in production. Would love to find one NIB or pre owned.
I like the idea of a stainless 303, only this time I hope Ruger makes them with the .311" bore and not the larger .314" plus size. Can't figure their logic out on that one.
Please produce the three models you have in your catalog for 2022. The listed 1A in 7x57 would be a dream. I’d take the 6.5 Manbun even. The 257 Weatherby would be awesome too. Please make them a reality.
There would be nothing whatsoever wrong with either a Browning/Winchester Model 1885 single shot, or Ruger No. I single shot rifle chambered in .45-70 Springfield for hunting deer, elk, moose, caribou, and buffalo (bison). Any of these in the proper hands would certainly provide fresh meat for the family larder and freezer. Too, they would likewise have their moral place in a Christian or Catholic mission for the same purpose for providing fresh meat. Like in Africa, Canada, or wherever.
One of each, please. And bring back the .30-40 chambering. I need one to go with my 1898 Krag😁. I have a 30-06, so i guess i need a Hornet or 223, a 38-55, the 45-70 of course, and maybe a 25-06. Hars to go wrong with any #1, if used for proper game. Being LH, i appreciate the ambidextrous nature of them, as well as lever actions.
Love my Number Ones. Now that they are doing a few in some pistol cartridges, would love to see a 41 Mag but with a faster twist in the barrel than what you typicaly see in a 41, like 1-16 or even 1-14, so it could shoot heavy bullets up to and including 300grain. Wouldn't be able to get my wallet out fast enough!
Lipsey listen up...build a # 3 again...make them compatible with older pistol calibers,, 25-20, 32-20, 38-40, 44-40, .45 long Colt,, 32-40,, etc,, bring back #3...your missing out on a big market....

i have on in 45-70 and let me tell you it is sweet to shoot! i have a danger game leupold scope on it that is 1.25x6 power. perfect scope for the gun. shooting the light loaded cowboy action factory stuff and my hand loaded rounds with 405 grain hard cast lead with trail boss powder is nothing for recoil. but when you load up some 500 grain solids with max powder charges it is way to much recoil for how light the gun is. kicks way more than my mauser 458 win mag with max loads. the mauser weighs alot more so that is why.
@@arthurbradshaw7035 mine is somewhere around that time frame so,don't remember the exate manufacturing date but it was the early 80's. mine had been bought brand new a shot a few times and then put back into the box and into the gun safe up until 2016 when i bought it
Lipsey’s really came so close with these rifles, but they fumbled right before the end zone. Stainless on a No.1 was never popular, and it’s REALLY out of place on an RSI. The International stock with the 6.5 Swede caliber are perfect together and just scream European, but that damn stainless doesn’t fit at all! It’s like putting a Honda Civic wing on the back of a classic hot rod. Just looks like ass and sticks out like a turd in a punch bowl! And the 250 Savage is another fantastic caliber, but it should have been offered in a 1B version instead of the 1A. Lipseys came so close on these guns, yet so far away!
I had two Ruger No.1 rifles in 458 Win Mag. Bad design. There was not enough weight in the stocks to balance the barrel. Not enough weight period.-and so too much recoil. Also, the shape of the fore stock is plain ugly-it should narrow towards the front of the barrel, like the original English designs. And more of them should be of stainless steel with laminate stocks. What a wasted opportunity.
That full length stock is beautiful
Manlichers are always eye candy to look at.
That first rifle is a thing of beauty. Love the stock and caliber.
if you like that look up Winchester model 70 mannlicher. thing of beauty
Single shot rifles are made for people who actually hit what they're shooting at Love the #1s and 3s. Single shot and lever action guns for me
Got an old vintage Ruger No1 45-70 and the wood is beautiful. Such a handy light little rifle thats capable of hunting any game, any where.
Did you forget about African dangerous game?
Nice
I just LOVE my Ruger No. 1 in .405 Winchester... subtle as a freight train.
Dream rifle. Love singleshots.
So true. Can’t wait to get the RSI in 6.5 Swede. I plan on installing a Skinner rear sight and see what I can do at 200 yards

The 6.5x55 Swede for many years was thought to be the best sniper rifle ever made. This by people that had to use it for that very purpose.

Beautiful rifles. The No.1 varminter in 22-250 is my go to. Well built and gorgeous gentlemen's rifle

The 6.5x55 will do anything that the 6.5 creedmoor or 260 Remington will do.
I believe if loaded with slow burning powder combined with the 24" barrel the sweed will smoke any other 6.5
The granddad and still the best
264 Win Mag has entered the Chat
It’s got nothing on 6.5-300 Weatherby
The first rifle you held up is my dream Ruger No 1. With a matching scope, I would just have to stare at it for a bit.
Install a slick rear Skinner aperture sight. Putting a scope on it ruins the look of the No 1.
II have No.1 in .35 Whelen. Every deer I have taken with the rifle has dropped in it’s tracks. A good thing, as I suck at tracking.
I have a Ruger #1 in 25/06 .Lovely shooting . The 6.5 intrigues me ?

Charlie Austin you obviously like the big calibers

Wish you’d do a mannlicher/international with a longer barrel.
I could wish for a .300 win mag for 2024, if wishes could come true...
That rsi stutzen in 6.5 swede is great, but you should do a run of them in .303 british in the future.
A great looking rifle and even sleeker with iron sights.
They did do a run in .303 but in blued/walnut.

I own a Ruger #1 25.06 light sporter with Circassian Walnut and only 30 made with about 75 made in American Walnut and love the Lypseys limited runs.
LOVE your stainless No.1s!!!!! Particularly the Mannlicher!!!!!
I will like to own one in 7.62x54r but I will soon be getting one in .270 WIN
2506 again stainless steel would be nice.
Any chance to get the 6.5x55 full stock model in Germany?
I’d love a NO 1. MANNLICHER In 35 WHELEN OR 222 REM

250-3000 was not “One of the first”, it was the first
The single shot rifle is known as the “Rifleman’s Rifle”
1 Shot 1 Kill
Nothing to do with the TV series.
Isn’t that the Model 70?
Doc Jeff, Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 and Roger Rule respectfully request a 2nd opinion
Love the #1. Had a #1B in 300 Win Mag. Would shoot one hole groups with the right factory ammo.
There would be nothing whatsoever wrong with either a Browning/Winchester Model 1885 single shot, or Ruger

Would love to see one with carbon fibre grips in a take down if possible for a ultra light mountain rifle
6.5 swede fit better in 26 inch barrels or lögner. Hertting from Sweden
I'd like to see the 264wm or the 270 weatherby come back in the #1

6.5x55 great moose gun 160gr rn

I have three Number Ones: #1-V (25=06); #1-H (458 WinMag); and #1 Stainless (450 BushMaster with 20" barrel.) All are top quality shooters.
Dang Ruger with their 13.5” LOP stock if you put a scope in it you can’t see through it.
Drop at comb is ridiculous
I like this rifle.
Single shot makes u a better shot
No. 1s should be blued steel and walnut. Please stop with the stainless.
Except in the RSI model.....
Especially on the RSI models.
You know what, they will still sell since there are many No 1 fanatics who must have everyone....
Oh, I know. IMHO it's the most beautiful rifle out there. I have one in .308 that is a tack driver.
Stainless so they won’t get Rusty.
