I remember this level being much, MUCH more fun than all the tedious bs that you had to go through! Still a great, fun game but man, thank you for uploading and taking the time the play it and let us relive the serious nostalgia that is this game!!!
The reason why the time time stops in the hay barrel challenge is because the creators of the game don't want you to try to use the trampoline way (easier way) intended for the other two time challenges to get to it to get to the chick. A real simple method you could use instead of the one way that's intended is you could jump on the sign behind the lever and jump up onto the hay barrel.
This is one of only two levels in the whole game where you can't get all five tokens in one play*.(The other being Alley's and Gullies.) *Despite what Rex says in Andy's Neighborhood, you can beat RC and get the race token without the Rocket boots, but it is more harder.
