I think the reason Yellow dragon gave his blood to Zeno despite him being not a veteran or a strong man is that he is the only one who could survive a thousand of years without turning into an evil and abusive being. I believe that to be true, even if he lost his way he'd be able to regain his humanity back. I will saybi am greatful that the rest of the dragons did comeback.
And his lovestory is not even included. After a few hundred years he learned to live again and to love again and he fell for a very sweet girl. But she was sick and died in his arms after he asked her to marry him. He stayed with her until she was nothing more than a skeleton and then some. So these ghouls, specifically one called 'Jason,' hunt Kaneki down and kidnap him. Dun, Dun, Duuuuun! Kaneki is then tortured via having his fingers and toes cut off multiple times since he has a major regeneration factor. Then he gets a centipede stuck in his ear. All the while Rize's "ghost" is whispering how helpless, useless, and cowardly he is in the background. Oh, Jason also forces him to make a choice between the 2 hostages he brought in, and which one should he kill. Obviously, Kaneki doesn't want to kill either of them. So he's indecisive. And because of that, Jason goes ahead and kills both of them right in front of Kaneki. This finally causes Kaneki to snap, he finally has a conversation in his head with Rize and he basically (well, not entirely) gives into her influences. He then proceeds to have a little psycho attack. Basically goes all boss ham on Jason and ends up eating him. The kid, who never wanted to eat human meat, who was shy, quiet, polite, and just wanted to read some good books. And IN THE ANIME, he then he goes and joins the bad ghouls and leaves Anteiku behind. That's just the first season. Need I go on?
I can’t get over the fact that Hiryuu is so shocked like he knew what was Zenos future and he was so freaking terrified.... I keep repeating that scene
I cried in the manga when King Hiryuu hugged Zeno after realising what his powers were. I felt so bad for him, and I cried again ;-; I really hope that at the end of the manga Zeno is able to die.
I think I’d rather have any other power than invulnerability, I feel so bad for him it’s the saddest thing ever having to watch all that you love die and you can do nothing but remain :(
Akatsuki no Yona was already a really good and beautiful anime with a great story, but Zeno's story was the most beautiful, tragic, heartbreaking and bittersweet of all... I can't help but cry whenever I think of his fate. The fact that he still got his spirits up after a thousand year and having gone through losing his beloved king, brothers and lover is truly admiring.
2000 years in pain of immortality... Seen all his dragon brothers being death and reborn... Being hunted down, and eaten alive and a lot more.. Is a miracle he still sane after all of that.

Zeno's story is SO FREAKING SAD. IT HURTS MY HEART... {L°{ He's immortal, and can't die, and the only way he's useful in combat; is if he's literally broken so many times over that his skin becomes dragon scales. That must hurt beyond description. I mean, if you put yourself in his shoes, having to watch everyone you came to love and cherish; die before your eyes, or of old age when you couldn't age? I can only compare this to Zeref from Fairytail, because he can't die either, and he's also immortal. Zeref lost his mind to being immortal and unable to die and walked the evil path, but...Zeno forced his way through all the pain and loss; to be seen as the smiling yellow carefree and harmless dragon of the 4, despite EVERYTHING he's gone through. THAT takes A LOT of dedication and discipline of mind and soul if you ask me; he's the strongest of all four dragons.

I always think of the hug that the crimson dragon king gave Zeno when he figured out he was going to live forever, I call it "the hug meant to last an eternity" bc the crimson dragon king realized Zeno would be alone for a long time and he would go through so much so that hug was meant to carry him through his tough times.
What hurts me the most is knowing that he probably won't die in the generation in which the anime / manga takes place. Zeno's story made me cry a lot, no matter how many times I reread these scenes in the manga, I will always cry with the same intensity.
This is so tragic. He watched King Hiryuu pass away. I thought at least he could spend some time with the other dragons longer than the anime said. Now... he's all alone!! I am wondering if the yellow dragon is able to spend hundreds of years alive and that is why he is so young and why he has that kind of power. This is one of those animes that I can watch again and again and still feel the same emotions cry, get touched and laugh. Like this anime was so good I can't get over it and therefore I come back every time searching for their MVs. Zeno especially stole my heart. The writer really did saved the best story for last😭😭😍😍😍
I think nearly everyone who has watched all the way through the anime ends up reading the Manga. It just hooks you in and drags you along start-to-finish!

Everytime king Hiryuu hugs Zeno I tear up. I can't imagine how he felt seeing his friends die and loved ones go but he remains. I really hope the day will come when he's wish will be granted. I really feel sorry for him.
I remember sobbing so much when i watched zeno's back story. I remember my tears not stopping and my face getring all red and puffy and now its like 4 am here and i suddenly remembered this anine and searched it up and now im teary eyed again. :((

More recently zeno was BURNED alive and it was so saddening because sometimes inoreder to obtain his inveneralbility he HAS to get hurt how much or how quickly his powers activate depends on how close zeno is to the hirriyu castle. They travel on foot sometimes they're in different count and the invenralbility is slow. It was stated plainly in the manga how he would tear himself apart from loneliness and dysmorphia zenos arc is probably the saddest. Though finding out the truth behind why su-won killed king Il is a VERY close second. I just hope Haks back story is as sad.

Its really hard to be left out even many want to be young forever but the pain you will experience on each departing is hard to deal with. I prefer the past dragons. Zeno is the one who is suffering in the end. The bond they share is unique and its really a sad past but a memory to be cherished.

It is very special to me how in the last eposide of yona at the down i never cared about the yellow dragon.. Now he is def my Favorite character.. The important thing is if they decided to make season 2 of this beautiful anime will they put zeno's background story in it? Zeno is the most cheerful and yet heartwrenching character I have seen/read. To those 52 people, "Never criticize a man (character) until you've walked a mile in his moccasins." Think on how long you would last in the 2000+ life of Ouryuu Zeno before you press dislike.

I never cried so much reading a manga. Zeno's past is so sorrowful it was really heartbreaking. I didn't do it on purpose but I was listening to 'Justin Bieber - Lonely' and without realizing it I was crying my eyes out, it was a very emotional moment, and when I thought I could finally control myself it just got more tragic... This character had a great impact on me ♥︎ And all of the team including the dragons, Hak, Yeon and the princess Yona. ↓ Warning : small spoil below ↓ But I can't appreciate Soo-won for what he did to Yona (even tho he wanted to "save" the kingdom, he was really cruel, this was unecessary) and for what he did to Hak when he only brings in the dragons and he makes the people believe that Yona is his future bride. I really tried to appreciate him, I succeeded, then he screwed everything up and now I hate him !

Zeno's story is really tragic and sad. There are moments where he's honestly happy, but he bears an pain of so much loss and loneliness. Unlike Zeref, from Fairy Tail, Zeno didn't walk down the dark path. Both Zeno and Zeref have tragic and sad stories, and I've learned a lot from that. And by just watching them, I can't help but cry. Some animes holds a message or lesson in it, and I've always liked that kind of amimes.

Dying sucks but always staying the same hurts more. At least when you grow old you have memories and people same as you for comfort but staying the same for ever you feel like you belong to no group. I am grateful that I can die because for me death hurts less than seeing every since being that I love and care for die before my eyes. I can not imagine a world where everything and everyone changes but I still the same. It's too much to bare even when insane. I don't mind a long and healthy life but not one that lasts forever.

I'm basically in the same situation as zeno.. but in my case emotionless, I can't express emotions... I can honestly relate so much. I mean even if tears fall from my eyes I remain expressionless. I can't express feelings with my face. it gets depressing at this rate, I even get bullied for something I cant control.. Zeno... It has been years since I watched this and it still hurts to see this.
It is very special to me how in the last eposide of yona at the down i never cared about the yellow dragon.. Now he is def my Favorite character.. The important thing is if they decided to make season 2 of this beautiful anime will they put zeno's background story in it? I mean ppl who didn't see the ova will never understand.. 💔
Also i always felt that the king hiryuu was actually in love with zeno ❤️

Zeno is the most cheerful and yet heartwrenching character I have seen/read. To those 52 people, "Never criticize a man (character) until you've walked a mile in his moccasins." Think on how long you would last in the 2000+ life of Ouryuu Zeno before you press dislike.

yes.. it may rude but, it's what he really wishes to happen. I really hate to see him suffer like this. Knowing he's immortal and can never age... In that situation theres nothing more miserable than seeing your beloved ones die, although you can never. Seeing loved ones age while you stay young forever, the misery he must endure is truly incredible..

I never cried so much reading a manga. Zeno's past is so sorrowful it was really heartbreaking.
I didn't do it on purpose but I was listening to 'Justin Bieber - Lonely' and without realizing it I was crying my eyes out, it was a very emotional moment, and when I thought I could finally control myself it just got more tragic...
This character had a great impact on me ♥︎ And all of the team including the dragons, Hak, Yeon and the princess Yona.

But I can't appreciate Soo-won for what he did to Yona (even tho he wanted to "save" the kingdom, he was really cruel, this was unecessary) and for what he did to Hak when he only brings in the dragons and he makes the people believe that Yona is his future bride.
I really tried to appreciate him, I succeeded, then he screwed everything up and now I hate him !

Zeno's story is really tragic and sad. There are moments where he's honestly happy, but he bears an pain of so much loss and loneliness. Unlike Zeref, from Fairy Tail, Zeno didn't walk down the dark path. Both Zeno and Zeref have tragic and sad stories, and I've learned a lot from that. And by just watching them, I can't help but cry. Some animes holds a message or lesson in it, and I've always liked that kind of amimes.
I have never watched this anime before but I was balling my eyes out the entire time. I'm now going to watch it even though it's sad. 😭😭😭

Dying sucks but always staying the same hurts more. At least when you grow old you have memories and people same as you for comfort but staying the same for ever you feel like you belong to no group. I am grateful that I can die because for me death hurts less than seeing every since being that I love and care for die before my eyes. I can not imagine a world where everything and everyone changes but I still the same. It's too much to bare even when insane. I don't mind a long and healthy life but not one that lasts forever.

in the comments practically everyone is crying.. yet i sit here, expressionless. Honestly hurts that even through such a sad anime series I am unable to cry for it. I'm basically in the same situation as zeno.. but in my case emotionless, I can't express emotions... I can honestly relate so much.
