My motor also dropped off, now fixed together with Loctite, hopefully will stay put. Video helped to put all fallen of parts to right places, thank you! Sadly full disassembly seems to be the only option...
Thank you for this video, it took me several hours to take everything apart and reassemble, but eventually I could replace the broken gearbox on my Kenwood. I only hope that the person roasts in hell who had the idea to redesign the machine in a way where for every fix almost everything has to be taken apart. The old machines (see every other Kenwood repair video) are way better to fix.
Nice. How many hours - or years did the brushes last? Mine is about four years old... I use mine about once a week for 15mins. You didn't mention where did all the grease come from - just from the gears? How long did it took for you to open this bad boy, clean and put back together? Cheers! 🙋♂️🇫🇮
Thank You for detailed and informative video! One question: when comparing COOKING CHEF XL (latest) and TITANIUM CHEF XL (1,700W, old model) - is the motor the same ? - is the planetar/reduction mechanical module the same ? Thank You a lot!
One queston Dean, at 2:20,... In my case, this red cap has lost the sealant that holds it in place (The white componet that you have) and has lost the oil that was inside the gearbox. Do you know what type of oil it takes ?? Thank you :)
Hii dean,i have the same mixer like yours in the film, and im trying for a dew days to remove only the upper part in order to change the complete gear, but no success. Can you please advice me how to get directly to the gear by removing only the upper part? ...if its possiable...thnx
@@deandohertygreaser i tried to follow your steps from the begining, but it seems that you didnt filmed all the steps . Can you something about it? Maybe the take a new film from the begining till the end? And please,i need your advise,is it worth all this hard work to replace the complete gear while the cost of a gear is half from a new mixer?
@@mmnsmmns4300 no if your gears are actually damaged, and the the cost is half the price is say no As once you get it up and running eventually the brushes will also need changing and they will be a further 50 at least I'd say.
@@mmnsmmns4300 the whole video was over 20min long. Obviously it's cut to shorten it down and all the screws also need to be removed. I don't have the original vid anymore I'm affriad
@@deandohertygreaser my god, please help me... I need this full video as i want to understand why i have to dissamble all the mixer only to get into the gear. Please advice me ,my problem is breaking in the axe of the drive shift, ehich mean, kenwood doesnt have this specific part,so they force me to replace the whole gear, and the cost i veryyyyyyyyy highhhhh,so i decided to do it by myself. Maybe 1200 w will be eanough? Which mixer of kenwood is easier for replacing parts, like gear? ...sorry to disturb you with my questions
Ugh , I have same problem just purchased it not long ago. There is no customer service number,. Horrible company care, they put wrong phone number all over .
Thanks Dean. Just stripped my wife's mixer following this guide. Made life much easier
Thanks for this video. It helped me refasten the motor to the chassis. Now it works like a charm.
Did you disassemble the whole thing like in the video?

Worked! Thanks a lot for your instruction! 👍

Tell me about it. To access the top, you have to dismantle the bottom.

The new model uses a 1200w motor so it is very unlikely to be the same.
Tebrikler.. çok güzel anlatıyorsun teşekkürler
What type of brushes were they? I suspect ours has the same problem. Might be handy to get the brushes first.
hello, can you five information from where i can get brushes or any part numer ?

Mine started leaking just a week ago 🙃 do you not need to grease the cogs when re building?

It's a food safe gear grease
Thanks, my family's kenwood seems to have the same symptom. Maybe that's the issue
I have a problem with my Kenwood Titanium practically the allen key loosens and loses the black grease

No I'm affriad you have to dismantle it from the bottom up. Bit of a pain. Main thing is removing the pin holding the top and bottom together.

Oil of unknown origins, you hate to see it.
Pain in the as, trying to find a leak that wasn't there. Must have been in storage and got spilled on it.
This is bullshit design compared to older ones.. 😢
I don't like your video. Sorry
