What a pop song. I was born in ‘82 but was the youngest of four, with the oldest sister being twelve years older than me. This type of music was always blasting in my house growing up and even though I’m more a rock fan, ‘80’s pop is always in my heart. You can almost smell the ‘80’s through the songs. It brings back so many memories, even though I was really young. I can remember my sister bathing me and she was sat on the toilet (not going to the toilet but sat on the toilet lid) and I must have been around five or six (not exactly sure, just a guesstimate) and Billy Idol was blasting from the record player. We had a bottle of bubble bath in the shape of a microphone and she’d lather my hair in shampoo, spike it like Billy Idol and I sing the song on the bubble bath microphone. Great memories.

Being relevant in pop music is about controlling the conversation in every way and at every turn, kind of like how she was in the late-80s and early-90s. With that said, I doubt anybody can stay relevant as long as she did, which is saying something---but it's over in that regard. The post-millennial generation only know her for her feud with Lady GaGa and the travesty of her career that was the 2010s, which sucks because that is pop's biggest audience right now. What a pop song. I was born in ‘82 but was the youngest of four, with the oldest sister being twelve years older than me. This type of music was always blasting in my house growing up and even though I’m more a rock fan, ‘80’s pop is always in my heart.
You can almost smell the ‘80’s through the songs. It brings back so many memories, even though I was really young. I can remember my sister bathing me and she was sat on the toilet (not going to the toilet but sat on the toilet lid) and I must have been around five or six (not exactly sure, just a guesstimate) and Billy Idol was blasting from the record player. We had a bottle of bubble bath in the shape of a microphone and she’d lather my hair in shampoo, spike it like Billy Idol and I sing the song on the bubble bath microphone. Great memories.

Being relevant in pop music is about controlling the conversation in every way and at every turn, kind of like how she was in the late-80s and early-90s. She and Michael Jackson were the only two people that could do that, mostly because they invented the platform. With that said, I doubt anybody can stay relevant as long as she did, which is saying something---but it's over in that regard. The post-millennial generation only know her for her feud with Lady GaGa and the travesty of her career that was the 2010s, which sucks because that is pop's biggest audience right now. She is an icon and just needs to be content with that.
