I never thought that I would ditch the Lazer mag pro gasser, which was an absolute work horse. But the ultra lightweight 24v was to appetizing to pass up. It's a great little auger with punch. With GPS maps I don't need to drill 50 holes to find a reef. It's deadly!!
I ran the 40v 10" for a couple years. My buddy is going on his 6th or so season with his. They're a great auger. I did switch to the ion alpha plus 10" this year tho. 10 lb difference between my SM 40v 10" steel to the ion. Even if I went with the polymer auger from SM it was still 7 lbs heavier.
Great auger! Maybe not as fast as my old gas Eskimo's R8 rocket but way more convenient. And my 2 youngs boys 9 &11 can punch holes with it np which they had difficulty with the gas auger. You can also buy a GREENWORK 24V 5AH batterie for cheaper than the SM one with a quick modification... they are some YT vid on this....
Yeah , seems to happen if there’s some slush ice or if your pressing on it..that would be the big dif between it and the 40v I would say. Happens with a brushless drill in a similar fashion I’ve found as well
Great, just bought the Lite Flight drill version. Can't wait to try it out in a couple of weeks!

24 volt is the Rocket Richard .... great reference !
Do you have the 24v stop drilling mid or near the end of the hole and have to restart it? What is that all about?
