Squaring the tap. Wonderful idea. Never thought of that.

Those black inserts are awesome as long as you have the material to support them.
Thanks for posting these vids enjoy seeing the progress!
    Take care

Good job! ( that's an understatement, isn't it?) It is always enjoyable to watch a video on this or any project you tackle.

I understand why you couldn’t use those bad ass inserts on those. THANK YOU for putting lock tight on those Heli Coils, it satisfied my OCD 😂

You are a better man than i to call what they had on there "weld" it was just gooping mottan on there as badly as possible. Not sure how on earth they thought it would hold, that is in my top 3 of worst looking welds. Nice fix but the brackets could use a insert or bushing to give a little tightness to the holes, I know they were made sloppy from factory but expecting a few 5/8 bolts to hold when a plow hits a rock is just asking for trouble. Great fix though, I have been binge watching your vids and some really creative and knowledge on this channel.

I've found in cases like this I can squirt some Marvelous Mysterious Oil toward the seal and it'll hush the bearing for a while. Not a permanent fix but it helps. I sounded like that 1st thing in the morning! Take care and so far, so VERY good!

Nice! A lot of work but it will look great when you are done. When I was in tech school I was cleaning out the oil pan bolt holes on an engine with a tap and a air ratchet. I ran it in too far and the tap broke off flush with the gasket surface. I was not able to get it out. Too bad because it leaked since it was the corner bolt. Lessons learned.

The 2 small bolts beside one another , Is the holes bigger than the thread size thinking These might need a bushing to the bracket looks like a 1/16 spacing beside the bolt that`ll give movement to the bracket possibly breaking the weld again , I`d make a cross 1/4" strap bracket from each side to the middle underneath with a 90 deg. bend to put a 5/8 bolt to hold the bottom from cracking again - A belly support - ,, Maybe make a copper pipe bushing just wider than the drawbar bracket so when the bolt tightens it`ll make a Farral in the bracket hole ( Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure )..Looks good though .

Wow, that thing was in pretty sad shape. You sure make it look easy. But I know from experience, it's not!

With time-sert inserts you will remove less material than with heli-coil
