Most ppl say lions because we call them the “king of the jungle” but little do they realize, lions don’t live in the jungle, also lions are inferior to tigers in almost every way. Tigers are bigger, stronger, better fighters/killers, hunt alone, and are far more agile. Lions have a weaker bite force, weigh less, and also aren’t as good as fighters because lions sleep for 20hrs a day and get fed, while tigers are more active and kill alone.
but those disney lion fanbois will say you are lying because they cannot accept truths... Then they will say size does not matter and say lion is stronger without looking at the combat stats comparison table.. Then they will say tiger run away or back off from lion or lie down means tigers afraid or submission... What they don't know is that Tigers are stealth and cautious animal and tends to avoid conflict to minimize damages on their body so that they can be always on the hunt for food and spend lesser time on injury recuperating. But that they does not mean they are cowards, they just prefer easy kill by ambush and wants to dictate HOW the fight should be started eg. fight head on or ambush... That is because nobody feeds or hunt for them but themselves.. Starve a tiger and a lion and put them in a steel cage whereby running is not an option and winning is the only choice, then tigers will show you the true power..

Difference is on 1 vs 1 tiger probably not engage and run away. Lion will just go for him as he is fearless and fight to the death without thinking. When tiger fights if it knows it get badly injured it probably retreat. Lion on the other hand only knows 1 way fight to the death. It just get madder when its in a fight.

Allan Steward Yes it is, I've done a hella lot of research and it's right. A lion has to fight with one paw on the ground and then attack with there other paw. A tiger on the other hand, can fight on there hind legs and attack with both paws.

Sorry male lions are not born to fight straight away the first thing they learn is pack order also they do not need to learn strsight away because the pack defends them allowing them to sleep around 20 a day. Tigers are born to be left alone for sometimes upto a hour well females hunt also have to when leaveing the mother find there own patch to call there own this is when they fight for territory with other big males and than have to fend for themselves. A tigers has to learn alot quicker than a lion. Also due to being in prides lone lions are very pritty timid from when i worked at a sufari in england i can tell u know when letting a single lion out in his patch if theres anything new in there it will wait for another b4 they both check it out.
