I went for the big chop in 2018 right after graduating from secondary school, i chopped all my hair off went natural for three years then got back to relaxing in 2021. Relaxed hair actually grows but you need to be putting on protective styles for long, every type of hair grows 0.5 inches a month so basically when you keep your hair in for 2 months you've grown 1 inch. Touching your hair consistently causes hair breakage as you keep on manipulating your hair.
Seeing Vatika is such a throwback for me stopped seeing them in stores for some reason. Loved the vlog and I noticed you took down your TikTok’s about haircare. Girl if you’re considering relaxing your hair just do it . We’re older now so it’ll be easier to take care of it and your hair can still grow when it’s relaxed so Yh ❤
Im rebranding on TikTok so I archived most of my content🤣 Im sure I’ll be able to take care of better now that I’m older but I still love the volume and versatility of my natural hair😭❤️

Girl I’ve been natural my whole life (25 years) and I just texturized my hair not long ago, lemme tell ya i absolutely love it and I don’t think I’m ever going back to natural because what 😂 I didn’t know I’ve been stressing myself for the longest but anyways I wanted to tell you that you can still take care of your hair and it’ll grow, just take extra care and continue doing your hair at home or at the salon but go with your products, plus plus use good products. FYI you can use natural hair products on it, deep condition, mask, heat treatment and all that, and it’ll be fine ❤
I started with a texturizer and ended up with relaxer i don't know how😂Also I have all the natural hair products it just takes so much time and energy😔❤

My hair has been natural since 2016, I feel like natural hair can be a hair growth process for someone and a forever lifestyle for another. Just choose what works for you dear. As for me I’ve even gotten used to it, whenever I feel it has to much shrinkage I visit the salon and have it blow dried, my hair has never been long than now in all my life, trust me i had nappy hair nicknames as a child, now i have hair longer than all of my sisters lol 😂.
I feel like they don’t handle my hair with care at the salon so I just struggle and take care of my hair at home. Maybe if i find those natural hair salons. But same my hair is the longest it’s ever been now that it’s natural.

Uhmm about the hair, I’ve also been contemplating on whether or not to relax my hair as well and it’s almost the same case as yours, it used to be relaxed and my hair could still grow even while relaxed, I just decided to transition with no reason. But I recommend you keep your natural hair on for now maybe until you’re getting married or something cause that’s my plan even though it’s such a hassle but I believe it’s best to grow your hair length while in its natural state. I believe you’re also on a hair journey. As for the volume I suggest you make double braids as frequently as possible such that you won’t lose very much of it when you finally decide to relax your hair. You’re welcome!
I've had natural hair all my life so I'm inclined to encourage you to stay natural 😅. As a "lazy natural" myself who isn't blessed with the styling skills that so many black women have😭 I primarily keep my hair in protective styles. I'd suggest you keep your hair natural and keep it in long and short term protective styles if it's too much of a hassle for you.
I also went natural in 2020. It's not easy to deal with the type 4 hair definitely but it's worth it at the end. The volume, versatility, coils, girl... Don't relax your hair. Keep pushing 😂
Hi sultana my hair is natural for around 5years and i understand the phase you are at and trust me relaxing isn’t worth it if you just bare with the for a bit I would suggest you tuck your hair away till you have the energy for it I have a busy schedule so i only squeeze time for my hair once a week or two and i do low manipulation styles
Girl I was at a "relax or not" phase recently cos I was tired too and i found out a keratin treatment might work but i still haven't found where to do it here in Abuja. Anyway, I passed that phase and I'll just braid my hair and not bother about it
I think you should just apply a texturizer,it helps my natural hair a lot,it's a lot softer and easier to manage ...P.S you won't loose your curls or volume

Why not try a silk press? You'd get the same results without the harsh chemicals. Relaxers are known to be endocrine disruptors (some cause cancer) and there's currently a lawsuit happening here in the U.S over it. Of course you're free to do as you please but I'll recommend trying a silk press before making a full transition back to relaxing. Great vlog btw, my first time here!

Don’t relax your hair. I think in the long term you’d regret it. I wouldn’t risk losing volume just because the alternative makes its easier to look after the hair (hope that makes sense).

I wouldn't advice you to relax your hair And I also know how hard it's to keep natural hair I relaxed my hair 2020 and I had to cut it 2021 because it was breaking, not getting longer and I was just tired of it So at the end of the day I would advice you to do whatever you feel like doing

I found the PERFECT keratin treatment place but the lady is in England😭😭 The braiding adds to the stress for me tbh especially taking them down!

I had a bad experience with relaxer that’s why I’m scared to back😭 I burnt my scalp
@@SultanaNazif you should apply shea butter on your scalp a day before your relax and don’t scratch your scalp use mild relaxer or maybe kids relaxer
