I miss these. I lived a block from them until I was about 8. I used to go there often ♡♡♡

They swap out the exhibit in the show dome periodically... My favorite as a kid was the model trains! They built a gigantic layout of dozens and dozens of miniature trains all zipping around, and I'm pretty sure you could control some too. A really great spot for families, and classic for the Milwaukee area!

It seems like the dome itself is more exciting than what’s inside unfortunately. I have seen these types of gardens in atriums of large buildings

It’s tranquil. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy nature and relieve mental and physical stress. It’s a Zen thing you wouldn’t understand.

Biggest red flag is people who think nature is boring tbh

One of the few places in Milwaukee where you could go in the middle of the long cold Winter and get a break from the cold by going into the desert or tropical climates for an hour or two. I remember going there in winter and enjoying the warm weather and taking off my parka. It was wonderful plus it’s educational as well.
And this they want to demolish because of lack of funds. It’s a landmark like St. had the Arch’s and Seattle has the Space Needle.
Demolishing it sends the wrong message to the youth. Why build anything if it’s just going to be torn down 50 years later? There’s no point in building anything then. They should get the schools involved in fund raising as well.
Can’t they raise funds with a 1 percent sales tax? Or a Lotto?
I will be dismayed if they destroy the Domes.
    Save the Domes!

This place reminds me of Frederick Meijer Gardens which is located in my home town of Grand Rapids, Michigan. And I go there a lot (mostly with my grandma).

Came to Racine to visit my dear friend 15 years ago who has since passed away. We went to the domes back then. Loved every bit of it. Being I live in California and now do not know anyone in the state I have not been back. Miss all the fun I had........

In Wisconsin, it's really trendy to salute a frog in order to remember the plagues of Egypt and ignore the Titans.
