- Down 1 run in the 9th with 2 outs, the Giants tied up the game on a blast from Donovan Solano. Then in extras, they got the win on a sac fly from Kevin Gausman, sealing it as one of the craziest games of the year!

I love how as soon as Craw tagged the plate and hugged Belt he made a B-line to Gaus. I miss being on a team and being able to celebrate moments like this.
SF is no doubt the favorites to win it all this season. They have looked impressive all season long.

@@nofurtherwest3474 if you’re talking about (1:22) there’s only ONE out. So therefore the runner has to “tag” & wait for the ball to be caught in order to start running home. It’s the bottom of the inning, which would make it no more chances for the braves to come back considering the giants are the home team. Ball game. That is on all levels, I remember playing like this in little league as well when I was a kid.

At 5:20 it says bases loaded. I didn't realize it was not the 9th inning any more. I though Gauzeman was up later in the 9th after Solano. Ok now I see it's in the 11th inning.
So if the game is tied after the 9th inning then they just keep going until someone wins?
As a Braves fan, I had to go back to this moment just now almost a year later... the Reds brought in Donovan Solano to pinch it in the 9th inning against Will Smith with two on and a three-run lead. Smith threw Solano fastballs and waited to throw him the slider(that he hit out in San Fran) until it was two strikes. But then Smith threw it so far inside and in the dirt it hit Solano on the foot. I know Smith was still thinking about that pitch from this game.

Best decision I made yesterday was start watching this game in the 9th. I was thinking of going to sleep, but then I checked the scoreboard in the 8th and the Giants were winning so I took a shower and decide to watch the end of the game, when I came back the team was losing, but I knew something wild was about to happen. Giants never disappoint in those close games, it's always worth to watch it towards the end.

The same pitcher being able to hit every single game that they're not also pitching, and on top of that winning the game with his bat. The DH gives way for 2 way talent. I envision a world where pitchers raking will be commonplace and clutch hitting can come from any of them

Now, I do think tagging is a bit OP, as it’s a cheap way to end such an outstanding brand of baseball with a sac. fly. I feel as though it should work similar to the foul ball system where after two foul balls a foul doesn’t count as a strike. If a runner is on 3rd, they shouldn’t be able to tag, because it’s a cheap way to score, and in the case of tonight, ended a must-see, high intensity game in the cheapest way. It’s a shame, but no excuse for the Braves, GG’s
I agree, only because of the Manfred runner. If the visiting team doesn't get their runner in, all the home team has to do is bunt them over and hit a sac fly. Obviously easier said than done, but still way easier than having to get a base hit. It reminds me a bit of overtime in the NFL before they changed the rules where all one team had to do was get in field goal range and it was basically a guaranteed win.
