Many modelers are already good at weathering of vehicles, buildings, surroundings etc. in dioramas, but when it comes to the faces of figures, it is the weakest link of chain. @@notjustpanzer
Thanks, it took more work that I initially thought. And I learnt that model scenes need a bigger amount of work, but for me it has become a new and interesting modeling subject.
Thanks for your comment. Until now, I uploaded a video about figure painting. If you didn't watch it, check it out th-cam.com/video/15bcH5ydRF4/w-d-xo.html Cheers
I have been lucky enough to see this work live from the beginning, to see the figures, the vehicle and the ground first hand. The result is extraordinary. If that wasn't enough, the video shows everything in a clear and concise way for the viewer. An extraordinary work. Congratulations Carlos.
Supper happy you like the video. Thanks for your comment. That's true, you have been a very close witness of the whole work, even giving advising for key points. Cheers
Thanks! I'd like to upload some figure content in the future. Meanwhile, some time ago I uploaded a video where I painted a 1/48 figure. If interested check it out th-cam.com/video/15bcH5ydRF4/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for such a kind words! Really glad you like the diorama, hope that this one were the first of more upcoming scenic projects. It felt very challenging in the beginning but luckily it turned out quite okay. Cheers
Wow! Thank you so much for your words. If you enjoyed the entire process, so it makes the videos worth the effort. Currently working in the next model. Cheers
Thanks, it was challenging in many ways, specially for getting a similar level of weathering among the different parts. Finally I learnt valuable lessons from this project that I hope I could use them in the future.
Chipping the base layer off with water is best done as soon as you finish putting down that base layer. Typically within a few hours. If you leave it too long the base coat cures and doesn't allow water to penetrate to the chipping layer. That could be what happened with the inside wall.
I agree with you, drying time issue is the most likely reason. That's why I applied some generous coats of chipping fluid. I find these techniques unpredictable and tricky to deal with. Tamiya just released a new chipping product, and it seems to have different properties. Maybe I should give it a try. Thanks for your comment!
Yes, their old figures were not very good. But their recently new figure kits have excellent details and can be used for display purposes without problems. Those are from the German infantry set (mid WWII). Check their figures releases since 2020, all of them are worth the price.
Thanks! I would like to make a 1/35 figure video in the future. By the moment I uploaded in the channel this video painting a 1/48 tank crewman figure. Check it if interested th-cam.com/video/15bcH5ydRF4/w-d-xo.html
Well, I always try to improve my painting skills. Of course there are parts of our projects where we don't get the results we would like. I took very important lessons from those results but anyway I'm very happy with the result. Thanks for your comment!
Thanks, glad you like it. Sometimes it feels good to try new things, in this case everything turned out pretty well. Obviously I got valuable experience from it to use in my future projects Cheers

Thanks for your comment. Stalingrad battle became well known due to the sad events that occurred in 1942. This channel stays away from any political apology and focuses strictly in modelling subjects/topics.
Wow, so you have been waiting some time! Honestly I think it turned out pretty well, still lot of things to improve but very important lessons learnt. Thanks for your support. About next projects, I'm currently working in them. I hope you watch them soon.
These figures were painted some years ago and I don't remember very well the colours I used. One thing is clear, paints were from Vallejo's model color range. German uniform base color I used was German fieldgrey, next I added some highlights and shadows but I don't know which references. Base color for the helmets medium grey + black I think.
I used the same brush for painting all the parts, a Marta kolinsky size 1 from Raphael brand, they have and excellent tip which makes painting easier. Winsor & newton or DaVinci kollinsky brushes have similar capabilities for figure painting, as I have used them in the past. Also I uploaded this video about figure painting where I show my brushes, check it if interested th-cam.com/video/15bcH5ydRF4/w-d-xo.html.
Amazing job wish I could paint figures as good as you im trying to find a color thats a bit more green than regular vallejo field grey but im having no luck and my paint mixing skills suck.
Thanks for your comment! Well I think it will be matter of meticulous searching in every paint brand for some greener field grey as you say. Did you check Vallejo's game color range? They work very similar to model color but it has more saturated colours.
@@notjustpanzer Will have to do that thanks I actually found that Aks ww1 german set would probably give me the results I wanted. Will check out game color thanks for the advice.
Its a great Diarama, personally when I do faces I do them more lighter skin colors, the faces are a bit to red for my taste. But don't take that as a criticism, its still excellent work. Also for the bricks that got melted, you could have used that oportunity to make them chipped or broken in those areas, and some could look like they were worn over time, u could have used it to your advantage. Again great work tho, turned out amazing!
Thanks for your comment! Don't worry, you are not the first one that tells me about the reddish shade of my skin tones, specially the nco figure is too pinky/reddish. I looked here to create colder flesh avoiding the more traditional orange shade skin tones. You are right, these are very good alternatives for fixing the melted bricks. Also as you say I could use that mistake to my advantage. That moment was so stressful 😵 and it was the first idea I came up with. Cheers
Yes I used Styrofoam cut and textured. I uploaded another video showing the entire building process. Here is the link th-cam.com/video/gADR5318_k4/w-d-xo.html
I love your works but in the figure section u need to focus about loadout places , canteens are in wrong places ;p Take close look on german loadout , some pieces have their own place and u canot attach it like this :) Especiali bouth canteens
Hi, thanks for your comment. I think I followed tamiya's instruction sheet, but I also remember I made some adjustments in the ones with the assault pack, so these might be the canteens you mean. Although they can't be modified, I will check it anyway for future projects. Cheers
There are quite a few model makers on you tube and they are frankly awful, I don’t bother commenting on their models because it would be cruel. You are not in that category, your tank, diorama base and figures are superb. Well done!
Soldier figures are the most realistic ones I have ever seen!!
