Only issue I have with the Reaper format is that if you keep winning all the way to the end, you can still only lose in 1 set and you lose the tourney. Minus that, it's pretty hype! I think if the last At Risk player had 2 sets to lost it would make it more fair.

The four horsemen of smash were considered that because their points were so close together. This season, the top 3 were very close, but there was a gap between 3 and 4. Light's punk ass is not one of the 4 horsemen. Bro can't even say he's best in NA after losing to two other NA players in the same tournament.

Sparg0 pretty much has the same opportunities tho. When miya was in NA he missed a lot of JP majors. Umebura is the only exception as a P tier that he attended that sparg0 did not.
What I find hilarious about the comments about Japan's tournaments is that for years it was the other way around, this side of the world had most of the big tournaments and they had to travel to even be considered in the rankings, but now that it's reversed it's an "actual problem". I dont mean no disrespect but the country where the game's bigger will always be at an advantage, that's why most games do regional rankings over world rankings

The fact that there's no pot winnings in JP means that as a core, their players have a different mindset, this is reflected on the fact that a lot of top japanese players's name arent even public, that doesn't happen here, our culture is to play for the love of the game yes, but also money and prestige, Leo went on to say many times that because of the Pot winnings, he HAD to win, for his family, and that's the same for many other players who want to make a career out of this, that rarely happens in JP, players like Tea who want to travel and be at the center of the spectacle are very rare, Yoshidora didn't travel for the longest time because he has a regular job and a family. Reality is, we cant have a world ranking without it being skewed towards a region, which as of right now, it's Japan.

Each Region should only be allowed a certain amount of points per month. So the only way you can get "extra points" is if you are traveling. So instead of Japan having 30 majors a month and US having 2 then only 2 of Japan's majors should count towards ranking. Those mofos only play for glory anyway so they should be fine with getting nothin. Makes it more well rounded and fair to all

I believe something like this watch hypothetically suggested in late 2023. The main issue then is how it's not so easy to travel across countries due to passport/visa issues. Sonix for example hasn't been able to do a Japan trip cuz of visa issues.
