I wish someone would break down the programming of this game. I know people talk about the sprite flashing but it's honestly amazingly they got so many large sprites to play this well and this fast on an NES.
I played this on the ps4 the other day and gosh, never knew you can make an speedrun on this. Plus how do you those super moves easily. I would just run and time the fire. Cheer on for Technos JP Corp!
How come a RTA world record from 5 years ago is faster than the TAS? "This is played on difficult", you will say, but it bears no importance as catching RNG is manipulated, making it no different than Easy in essence. Pretty sure the TAS can be sub5. But right now, RTA beats the TAS, which should NOT be the case. From what I recall, there is a way to manipulate Steve's running shot to multihit a target that is already down. If this can be manipulated at will in a TAS, I dare say sub4 is feasible.
It's kind of cheating to manipulate the rng to have the CPU teams sub in thier worst players IMO. Beating Swami to death 1 and 2 HP on india at a time is all part of the fun.
