I don't agree on the price thing, if u are OK spending $10k to a rolex sub steel and even more premium for that watch, and not ok on spending $10k for a 007 edition and titanium watch with lume on the bezel, then u are what's wrong with this watch market
Ok fair review. I am wearing this right now and yes legibility can be an issue in low light. Obviously the lume when charged is amazing and helps with legibility. That being said the design is just so cohesive. I have a 7 1/4” wrist and the Milanese bracelet + clasp fit wonderfully + is super comfortable. I can see the clasp getting wonky on smaller wrists though. Overall this watch is super masculine, wonderfully light, durable, and just beautiful. Hard to regret purchasing it - it’s a stunner and super comfy.
I just purchased this watch from my Rolex AP for $8,300 out the door ( I don’t pay sales taxes) and it’s my new favorite watch and my daily. Love it so much that I’m putting my new Rolex Starbucks for sale next week lol. It has that perfect vintage look, it’s a low key James Bond without the cheesy 007 logos anywhere , it’s indestructible, I have nothing negative to say about it as anyone who knows about watches knows omega is a great brand. Out of my modest $250,000 watch collection , it’s easily in my top 5 and might be my favorite tbh which is why it’s my daily and I even sleep with it lol
Update, having owned it for 6 months, and despite loving the aesthetic and wrist feel, I sold it because the contrast on the dial made it impossible to read in low light, such as a restaurant. ( or even my living room on an evening) lovely in many ways, unusable as a watch.
Great video, spot on with observations. I struggle to read my NTTD in certain light, and do my best to ignore the Bond references, but, I totally love it. It wears thin, doesn't have a date complication which is great if you own more than one watch, and for me, it looks a bobby dazzler. The fit and looks are all I need ( use my phone for time anyhow😂) Priced high, but it's made of titanium, and everyone of these watches are silly money if we are honest. ( casio could do the same, but you ain't feeling like Bomd wearing one)
I’ve been happy with mine paying $7k total for a mint version and free matching nato strap. I agree with most of your points and love it for a daily as it’s so light and durable. I’ve never felt the need to put on the nato strap but nice to have as an option. I wouldn’t have paid full price for it but at $7k, I thought it was a good price for a seamaster that’s a bit different.
I paid the same for mine. $7k out the door with both straps but I ended up getting the Uncle straps Ti bracelet which fits me even more comfortably (jubilee version). The NTTD is my favorite out of the collection.
Great review! I have the ss smp300 white dial and agree its just perfectly priced against comparable tudors and rolexes. With that said, that lumed bezel is something else!
Great review! I’m on the fence on picking this one up because I love the look. This is the first review to cover the rotor noise and I think that’s going to be the deal killer for me sadly. Thx!!!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, especially in regards to the loud rotor! I haven't heard this from any other reviews yet. I had two watches with loud rotors - Lorier and Longines and both were rapidly sold. Definitely a no go for any new watch, especially over $1000. I also wish that the markers were less brown and more cream, to help with legibility. All that being said, the watch looks great. I hope regular Seamaster comes out with more muted and less shiny and reflective colour schemes.
I had one for a year. Good bracelet and the titanium case is excellent. The faux aged lume is just too faux as it is not as visible as it should be in daylight. The big problem is the domed glass as at night it makes the time very hard to read at an oblique angle.
Upon receiving Omega October 2019 newsletter and discovering this watch, I knew I had to get it. I bought it a year ago from a friend AD, brand new with a discount and tax rebate so all in all -25% from MSRP. I have the titanium mesh as well as two identical NATO which go with it. It is a beautiful watch, I enjoy its feather weight although I would have loved if Omega had pushed the envelope with a titanium mainplates, bridges and oscillator frame movement like they just did with the new Planet Ocean. I really enjoy my first Omega and don’t regret buying it. It keeps great time, the Metas certificate is an added bonus but it is frustrating that Omega will not renew it when the watch is returned for service. I have yet to hear the ceramic bearings noise you describe but also I am not shaking the watch the way you did in the video, it’s a bit extreme… The price… I don’t really care, if I like it and really want it, I get it. 😉
Same here. My AD sold it to me for $8,300 out the door ( I have an Oregon address so I don’t pay sales tax). One of my favorite purchases of all time even though I just got it and I’m putting my new submarine Starbucks for sale because this James Bond is my daily now and forever 🙌.
When comparing to a Rolex, the new titanium YM might be a better comp due to materials used. At the price of the YM in comparison the SMP isn’t bad value.
A better value?? You have zero clue of what you’re talking about sir. The YM titanium is 25-45k in the grey market, and it’s one of the most scare Rolex’s at a Rolex retail store which is $16,000 however imposible to get basically. I got my James Bond titanium brand new for $8,300 from my AP Rolex girl. It’s so good that I’m selling my new Rolex Starbucks since my James Bond is my new daily
Tokyo 2020 Olympic version is the best colour combo. White dial, blue bezel and the hour markers/hands change colour from black to blue in the glare/reflection. Prices on Chrono24 are similar to the NTTD but much more rare! Only 3 for sale in USA whereas there are 50 NTTD for sale in USA and 188 total right now. Also, the NTTD was at every AD in the 3 cities I visited in past few years. Not rare at all... IYKYK the Tokyo is the best SMP
I much prefer the Seamaster NTTD but you know, tastes, colours and materials _ we have all different tastes. Rarity can be an extra desirability factor for collectors that’s correct but that is not the only factor…
Fantastic review as usual, very elegant watch. The strap looks absolutely beautiful, although I have never myself really got on with titanium watches, and the rotor noise would certainly put me off , keep the videos coming my friend, simply the best watch channel on TH-cam in my opinion … ❤️
Great video bro and a great watch! This mesh bracelet is definitely preferred over the standard SMP one mainly due to the taper and thickness. With that, not sure if i could justify 4k premium for the same watch in different color and titanium… If money wasn’t the issue, I would probably go with this model but for the difference of another Tudor BB58, probably not. Keep em coming!
I love this watch. I was very close to buying then hesitated because the bracelet bulged out because of the clasp. I heard there was a shorter strap that you seem to have, what’s your wrist size for comparison? Mine’s 7”
Is your nttd titanium mesh milanese or steel milanese mesh bracelet? Cause in the omega web they only supply oem steel milanese bracelet.. and you dont mention your shorter version is small size or even the material of the bracelet… thank you
I have a handful of Seamaster diver pieces, so I am picky. The NTTD looks nice from afar, but it is a no. Fautina, skeleton hands, and toothpaste escape valve are no good. But the absolute heresy is the disrespectful use of military marks and the Bond markings. An absolute red flag and I am an avid Omega collector. Wearing a much more authentic - full titanium - SMP 300 2231.50.
I bought this watch Monday and love it. It is extremely light that is what stuck out me. I have the regular band and agree on the overlap. The bracelet is stiff but it fits my wrist fine. Rolex just has better brand recognition. Omega in the superior watch I feel but of course Patek is the king for me.
Excellent review. I had both the NTTD and gen 2 300 Heritage. I sold the NTTD and kept the 300 but put on a 21 mm omega mesh. You nailed most of my issues with the NTTD. I picked mine up for slightly more than half retail and still decided to move it along. If it had an 8912 movement and wasn’t a “bond watch” it would be the best Seamaster on the market. The size and weight are perfect. The cream lume, brown dial and bezel are beautiful. That ceramic ball bearing in the rotor, the hard to read (in daylight) hands and all the bond stuff (mod arrow and printing on the case back) killed it for me.
Omega doesn't appeal to me, so my comment isn't about the watch: Is this your first video trusting someone else with photography? I think that you got good results. And being comfortable in one's own skin has something to do with that. I would like to suggest shooting in 60fps because that would give you some flexibility in the story/edit, like invisible speed ramping or clip reversals.
Prices for this watch has gone up already. It's a special, cool looking and timeless watch that you see less than a Rolex sub. I love it but reading the time in dim light is a con for sure just like the lume that does not last long.
I got lucky, a guy was selling one on behalf of a friend who received it as a gift. 5.4K. As soon as I pressed buy, he tried to change his mind because he realised the value of the watch, but by then, he was obligated to sell it because he was paid for it. It was an amicable transaction in the end, and he said ‘look after it, please?’ And then we parted ways.
This watch could be good for 7k, not 10 way over price. There is no date on the watch either. This is a great watch, but it's just not worth 10k. Also, there are no complications with the watch either.
Basically the counterpart of my 124060. Nah, I'm good. I like the Sub way more plus it doesn't have any obnoxious markings or any X or Y celebrity supposed involvement in it. Oh, yes. And it was the first Bond watch.
Firstly why can’t Americans pronounce Craig !!! Makes me laugh every time I do like this watxh for many reasons buts it’s flawed and I don’t like the fake military designations - they are inappropriate but I do get that it’s essentially a costume that watch The slimmer profile is fantastic and I like the overall vibe

In my opinion, this Omega is way less “overpriced” than every single Rolex 😂
Don't forget basic OP in silly colors with a price hike and zero availability. 😂
8 months later and this " special edition " Omega can be had for just under $8k on the grey market, 20% off retail.
@@BoleDaPole Yes, as it should be... unlike Rolex. LOL.
yes but when the other SM are ~$5K you can't justify this.

Very informative. I’ve got to agree with your assessment and conclusions. But damn, it’s sweet looking and I really like the wearability factor.

Hello fellows watch lover. How much did you end up paying at the end? I’m after one but they are asking 10k on the Milanese bracelet.
You will get it cheaper on the grey market; around £6500. I got mine in May 2022, new with the Milanese bracelet and two NATO for €7,182.
Same here. My AD sold it to me for $8,300 out the door ( I have an Oregon address so I don’t pay sales tax). One of my favorite purchases of all time even though I just got it and I’m putting my new submarine Starbucks for sale because this James Bond is my daily now and forever 🙌.
@2:47 that shorter overlap digs into my wrist just as shown here if worn long enough. Bought the mesh but wish my overlap was longer.

I never heard any rotor noise when wearing it. Its bs.

Mines just under 7”! The shorter clasp is the one I have featured in this video
How did you get a shorter bracelet version?
I think you can request one from the AD. Sometimes they have one in stock

Yes, it’s the titanium shorter version
The best homage of '62 Submariner ND.
The beach you're at looks like Ventura!
Good catch ;)
This or the 60th Anniversary Bond, can’t decide?
It’s an amazing watch. Like it and where it much more than my new Rolex Starbucks

Good, honest review!

Hello great video & watch! Whats ypur weist size?
Roughly 6.75"! Thank you.
Anyone know his wrist size?
Think this will work on a 6.5inch wrist?
6.75”!
10/10 certain light conditions it becomes invisible, it difficult to read the hands, it’s very light, it’s £9500.00 worth it?
Nope not worth imo!
Thanks for the review, I was shocked by the rotor noise. That's unacceptable, in my opinion, for a $10K piece.
You and me both! Omega needs tighter tolerances

Not a $10k watch, in my opinion. I really like the bracelet but I wish it had date. It's probably worth more like $7-8k.
For me this watch is Bitter quality that submariner . So, for me it s not too expensive. But i understand your view.

I prefer the Spectre bond watch, this is too military looking
That’s a great one! More elegant looking
Perhaps you could do a review and comparison video if you managed to get your hands on one :)
Way too expensive but if watches are your thing and you can afford it. Treat yourself! I know I would!
