But Royal blood are a two piece rock band, and don't need a pit. Out of curiosity, might I ask why you enjoy pits so much? I've been in a few myself and don't find it particularly great falling over and pushing strangers around... Whatever, I'm in to the music itself and go to gigs to enjoy the music and appreciate the musicianship...
I don't know what all is going on there, but it actually sounds like a bass and a guitar playing, not an effect. It's like the bass side is slightly delayed to make it sound more like two guys playing. Whatever it is, it's f'ing awesome!
Its due to the bass signal being split between two (well atleast two) speakers. I don't think there's an actual delay effect. It's just a matter of how the sound waves are bouncing out of the speakers
Well there you have,it theres no need to spend thousand of euros or dolares to have a good sound that Gretsch Junior Jet bass is playing cost only 290 euros or 250 US.

They are pretty cool but all he is doing is using a POG pedal, some fuzz, a pitch shifter (ie whammy pedal), and some delay. Nothing that groundbreaking. Its cool though because most people try to make their guitar sound like a bass hes going the other way which I like. Good name too. I like to see any real rock band get some success though so I wish them the best.

I think the Libertines first album Up the Bracket is groundbreaking. I find Michael Bloomfield to be groundbreaking. The Yardbirds were groundbreaking. Hendrix. So they are a cool band for sure and compared to the shit coming out today they have a bright future I dig them.
