As I've gotten older I tend to appreciate cars like this more than new cars. Maybe one day I'll actually buy one of the cars being offered at Specialty Motor Cars. I don't know how you manage to find them, but you've had some real beauties for sale, including this one.
I know alot of people saying they hate the Vinyl Roof color, but we have to remember what contrast colors were in back then from the 80s. And Vinyl & Cloth roofs was in style. Cadillac & Lincolns came with some weird colors roofs. This car is beautiful.
Oh the memories as a kid! My aunt had one every time she came to get my siblings for the weekend she would be playing Luther Vandross. Man oh man such happier times.
The 1982-83 HT4100s are the ones to absolutely stay away from. By 1984 GM had solved the majority of the issues from all the buybacks they had to make and replacements of the earlier design, so this version isn't so bad. Just as always, whomever buys it be sure to be vigilant in maintenance. It would not be overkill to change and flush the complete coolant system once per year, no matter if you drive it a lot or it's a garage queen.
Love the Cadillac I used to have an 84 El Dorado beautiful eldorado with a white top thank you for showing that say hi to papa bear this is your friend from the sunny of California
cell pat I would prefer a black vinyl roof if I had to choose. But very few 84 and 85 touring coupe came with anything but a black painted top roof. Hardly made any of these models in general.
I'd rather have a painted top I don't like carriage tops I don't like vinyl tops they all become a nightmare down the road keep the car waxed that paint on the roof will never go bad
Also according to a friend who sold these Cadillacs new, GM sent out a service bulletin stating that if a Cadillac came in under warranty with a bad 4100 then put 2 sets of head gaskets on it to get it thru the warranty period. The block was aluminum and the heads were cast iron and after awhile they tended to seperate causing the head gaskets to blow. 2 sets of head gaskets remedied that problem long enough to get it past the warranty period. Thanks GM!
Fantastic survivor there! Super rare ETC of the era. What's interesting is that many modern cars are pulling inspiration from the aesthetic of the interior of these types of cars. The colors, shapes, open-pore/smooth wood, etc are all current now, just with a modern spin. This "low-chrome" Caddy is a real treat.
My first car was an 81 Eldorado with the 350 diesel. Was given to me by my grandfather, and miraculously had 160,000 miles on it when I received. I put about 3,000 miles on it before getting rid of it. Leaked so much oil and coolant. Loved that car though - drove amazingly.
Such a great car! My last one was a 1984 Barritz...I loved that car! If only there were better engine/transmission options. That 4.1 L 137hp motor was sadly under powered. I miss the 350 and even the 368 if you deleted the V8-6-4 set up. I do hope you get your asking price!!
Nice! I don’t know about you, but when you go out and you find a superb used car like that with all that paperwork from the time it was new it’s like a kid in a candy store. I would buy the car go home and sit in it for three hours and then go inside and look at all that paperwork for another three hours LOL
It’s a Pleasure watching and listening to you describe your cars for sale, you are very detailed and Honest, Good for you, don’t see it much anymore, I’m looking into buying another DTS but I live in Florida
Another Great video. It is amazing how some people can keep these cars in such great shape for so long. And also amazing how Anthony keeps on finding them. Good job again.....
Went to graduation in that in 88 used to cruise 86th st in Bensonhurst I had the bigger whitewalls and the thick spokes and spinners which were big at the time now 52 I can’t for the life of me remember the name of them damn rims!!! I hope someday soon u get a white Biarritz with lipstick red interior so I can put 1 in my garage
I thoroughly enjoyed looking over this beauty, it brought back a lot of memories. The Caddy Touring Coupe was stunning with it was new, and this one is just as stunning years later. Tony, thank you for the great video.
Hey Anthony - beautiful car brings back memories. I had a client in 84 that I maintained his Eldorado Much like this one with same wheels and a black version of this top but, it had burgundy leather. You are correct that those are Cimmarron seats with Seville Elegante' center console. My clients didn't have a center console and had the base tuck and roll style Eldorado seats. Was a beauty just like this one is and I normally go for the full on Biarritz Glitz and glamour...Allen.
WOW! This is THE BEST Cadillac ever! I would add the teak luggage rack that was available in that year. I absolutely LOVE this car! Worth EVERY DOLLAR you're asking.
You have some cool cars.especially those special caddys. .Had a beautiful 1991 in mint condition with just 54thousand miles when a wreckless driver ran a red light and wrecked the entire front end.Fully equipped with special grill and continental wheel in rear, carriage top burgundy on white..Hope to get one of your specials.
Anthony, love watching your videos, however they would be much more enjoyable somewhere in a quieter place other than next to a highway with all the background noise.
The HT4100 Was a good motor if people actually took care of them if they wasn’t took care of they would have head gasket problem but with that one only having 20,000 Miles and being took care of that’s a great car man nice
I thought those looked like Cimarron seats! What a gorgeous automobile! Love the color combination. Absolutely will shine proudly in the new owner's garage! What a great find!
Gorgeous as always Anthony! A true collector piece. I really like the thicker whitewalls on this one, not common on the touring coupes but looks great here.
they were the last of the boxy shaped elderados. nice looking cars and smooth ride. shame about it being FWD but its already like that for a couple decades. the HT engine in it though....its a mtter of when not if it blows a head gasket
Eldorado... the driving spirit of Cadillac! I remember this car. It is interesting about the Eldorado Touring Coupe that came later. There is an Eldorado Touring Coupe road test from Motorweek here on You Tube. Great video. Good information about the interior. It is in great shape. I think you are correct about the seats being shared with Cimarron. They used to pay attention to details. It showed in this car.
Anthony I love the car I had a Cadillac Seville with the touring suspension option they had 50,000 miles I bought it from the original owner he had a photograph taken at the dealership when he picked the car up it had White Walls like that it had bright chrome over the fender Wells the white was in the rubber in the bumpers so it just looked like a luxury car with a factory carriage top but it had the touring suspension and it could handle beautifully
Great presentation Anthony. I know you're a straight forward and honest guy. That's one very different Eldorado. I like it. Almost reminds me of the "Euro" treatments GM did back in the 80's I somehow remember the "Euro" Celebrities. I currently own an 84 Biarritz in Cameo Ivory. The HT 4100 has 96K miles. It's under-powered, makes a lotta noise, but it is reliable.
Congrats Anthony you've got a great one here. Stunning Eldorado, Love the color combination. Someone will be very lucky to take this home. Great price!

the 1979 to 1985... Riviera, Toronado, Cadillac Eldorado. Had the look back in the day..I had a 1980 Toronado. With the target diesel engine. Then I owned a 1984 Olds Toronado solid black. Very dependable cars..

@Johnny AppleStead Well...I amn't in the market for one. I do remember as a kid I think this was the first car I sat in with a digital dash. Now they are pretty much ubiquitous.
I love it. I think this is a unique beauty! Love the wheels & tires!!Love the interior even though the color is a bit much. Reminds me of an '84 Eldorado Convertible (white w/white top, & red interior) that a good friend of mine had back in that day...a very classy Lady. - BTW an update from my end Anthony on my '05 Town Car...can't believe it is already coming up on a year since I picked her up from you last November 3. I'm loving her! Currently she's turned 18k miles now, just this past week... & Loving her muchly, the best birthday present I ever bought myself 💕 Right now I'm shopping for a new set of rims to add some unique class to her look beyond the common standard TC wheels...my THIS-year's birthday present to myself, -Lol! Still only driving her in nice weather, being very gentle on her...Take care, keep the Beauties comin', you sure do find 'em!!.
Always though the Touring Coupe package on these cars was rather odd. Come on Cadillac, you ain't fooling nobody that you're a BMW by just blacking out the trim and blackwall tires. This one's even weirder with the coach top. Personally the one I LOVE is the Biarritz model with the stainless steel roof, in a dark color so the roof really pops.
I have the last year of the El Dorado 2002 ETC collector's edition I have number 15 in Alpine white. My dad has a 1984 Eldorado in Balboa blue with only 15,000 miles on it it's immaculate he keeps it stored in a climate-controlled garage.
Anthony: Pardon my Legs. You crack me up. I have never seen one like this. Totally a different look. I try to picture it with all black smooth roof. I think that would be really sleek look.
I remember when Cadillac introduced the Eldorado Touring Coupe. My first thought was “why would Cadillac ruin the Eldorado like that?” Then I had the chance to ride in one. For it’s time it was a good vehicle. By the way an acquaintance owned an ‘82 Coupe Deville with the HT4100, drove it over 100,000 miles before it gave him any problems, and this person wasn’t particularly meticulous with the maintenance.
my 84 Biarritz' HT 4100 has over 90K miles on it, it makes a lotta noise when I try and get it up on a highway and such, but really it's been very reliable. No breakdowns, doesn't use any oil between changes, starts everytime and it's happy on the freeway doing like 65, 70.
OOOOOOOO. So close to pulling that trigger. I swear. The paint checking thing bothers the crapout of me, as does the curious repaint on sections. Personally? I love the top! I've dropped a line now and again that I owned an 85 Toro Brougham and alwys regretted selling it. It was a med-dark Pewter color with dove gray leather and carpet so thick you could bury your foot in it. Sunroof. Just the most stunning car I've ever owned and I've had some gorgeous cars! My Toronado had the same top, only light gray. Big azz wire wheel covers, Royal Seal "wide" whites and an awesome V8. I would give one of the guys to find that car or one just like it. The top works for me. The engine not so much. THX! I'm keeping my eye on this, tho. Flip the whites!
I remember these, but did they not have black sidewall tires? I love this generation of Eldorado, but I replace those wheels with genuine wire wheels, replace the canvas top with metal top painted in black, and add a Caddy hood ornament. Then it’s a proper Elmo 😇
Love the 80s Cadillac’s especially Eldorado’s and Fleetwood’s 4.1’s are like the northstars you get a good one or a bad one and if maintain them and your fine lol..one day I’ll have the money to fix my baby fleetwood miss driving her
Personally I would keep that paint completely original....the Turtle Wax Black Box kit would fill and mask the checking....may sound cheesy but it works surprising well and the paint remains original.
That toffee caramel interior is just beautiful! Always had a soft spot for Eldorados 😘

God Anthony this ETC is gorgeous. If I was out of my lease at this point I would buy this, always loved these. :-)
I remember these, but did they not have black sidewall tires? I love this generation of Eldorado, but I replace those wheels with genuine wire wheels, replace the canvas top with metal top painted in black, and add a Caddy hood ornament. Then it’s a proper Elmo 😇
Very unique car Anthony , very nice...
Love the 80s Cadillac’s especially Eldorado’s and Fleetwood’s 4.1’s are like the northstars you get a good one or a bad one and if maintain them and your fine lol..one day I’ll have the money to fix my baby fleetwood miss driving her
I love those old chimes
Thumbs up if those keys with the square and round tops take you back to a simpler time..
Beautiful car💯
I love this channel 😎🥇
In the 1980’s every car was cool in my mind for having the front split bench seating or bench seating and column shifters!
Even the counsols like this one didn’t intrude knee room and still had a column shifter.
That interior makes me hungry for chocolate covered Caramels. So yummy.
such a beautiful car. I wish I was in the market.
Personally I would keep that paint completely original....the Turtle Wax Black Box kit would fill and mask the checking....may sound cheesy but it works surprising well and the paint remains original.
Very nice . Dont see many of those any more .
