That second location in his domain really is powerful. My cousins and I love this game, and I was playing Kang and was fortunate enough to conquer that space very early on. For a good chunk of the game, thanks to turn order, I was free to move there and use all the goodies.
Ultron took a bit of a hit on his last Objective with the Mischief set, but only when going against Loki himself. That ‘set power to one’ Fate card is BRUTAL on Ultron. And I’m pretty sure there’s another card in there that reduces power too based on the Multiverse cards. Going through all these again I’ve come to realize how much of a Swiss Army Knife Loki’s fate deck is. Ultron is still my favorite of course but hearing all of these again is making me so enamored with the design of the newest set and how it interacts with the old ones.
@@benwren2917 Red Skull would be cool too. Have like a sleeper agent mechanic that could convert other allies or something to Hydra agents or something like that. But for a sinister six, I'd have Doc Ock be the character and the others are allies with the objective being to assemble the team
1 tip I try thinking about is let's say Ultron has 10 power while The Invasion of Stark Enterprises event is on going, and you defeat it, you would automatically win with 3 upgrades already done.
Loving all the tutorial vids,I’d like to see a tier list of all the marvel villainous (including Loki expansion) I’m also saving to buy the ENTIRE villainous collection. So far I have all the marvel and I have all the Disney (except for the Bigger and Badder expansion.
Another tip, if Angelica is in your realm use Jocasta to relocate her to Odin's Vault... Not only removing one soul mark already when played and screwing her more with Jocasta's ability by playing her to Odin's Vault

great video, sam! when i first played through as ultron there was some confusion. when you have to “remove” the sentrys for the first upgrade, do you simply remove them, or do you need a specific action (like discard, for example) to do so?
Natalie Kulpinski you just get to remove them at any time during your turn :) just remember you can’t complete 2 upgrades in a turn. So you could play both sentrys... then remove them both in one turn :)

Correct me if I'm wrong... but there's almost no reason to worry about being Fated or Vanquishing Heroes in your Domain, right? You just keep pressing on to accomplish your Upgrades until you win and there's almost nothing that can be done to stop you. Even a well timed Nick Fury or Black Widow will only hold you back for a turn or two. What do you guys think?
Thank you for these Marvel Villainous videos! They have been SO helpful in learning how to play this very complex game. One question, is there a point to other villains placing hero cards into Ultron's domain other than to block the top actions? Does he ever actually HAVE TO defeat them?
How about this. If you have Giant Sentry and 2 other sentries you can remove them both to play him and get the transformation. Basically 2 benifits to Ultron.
How do i "remove" my sentrys without fighting? In our first game no other player placed any heroes on my Board so i couldnt fight and therefore remove my sentrys. I have no card in my deck to remove them from my board either so how does this work?
I think it is easiest to win the game with Ultron. His deck is very functional towards his objectives and there's not tons that other players can do to foil him, but he can mess with other players.
Question? For Ultron’s “heavy attack sentry” the card says this “location” gains a vanquish. Just to be clear. Does my villain mover have to be on that location specifically in my domain in order to complete the vanquish action or can the card be played in a different domain than my mover and be played in the same turn? Example. My mover was in the 3 domain. I play heavy attack in the first under a hero. Can that sentry immediately vanquish or do I need to move there on my next turn? Many thanks. Say, I have a question: how do you remove your sentries? Do you have them vanquish heroes? In that case, do your sentries have to win the fight? Can you just remove them from your domain anytime, without performing actions? How does this mechanic work?
So treat it as a free action you can do at any time during your turn. remove the sentries from your domain and discard them and then gain the benefit of their removal. this was now added to the rulebook of the new marvel expansion as it wasn't added in the original box printing.

question... on the specialty cards that ultron comes with, the first one says to REMOVE two sentries.. since there is NO RULE or ACTION or CARD allowing you to REMOVE allies from your board and discard them, would you need to use them in a vanquish action in order for them to be removed, because I don't think thats very "challenging" if we could just remove allies from your board especially if no where in the rules or his cards or his booklet allow him to do so. Me and my husband played last night and got into a bit of a confusion, plus every video we watch shows the players just taking the cards off after putting them on, which to me shouldn't be done that way. when I think of removing allies I think of vanquishing them to remove them from your board, in which case now you have fullfilled that objective and can now flip over the tile. note I played it this way by using my two sentries in a vanquish in order to remove them off my board for the first objective as well as used the duplicate sentry with the two items attached to him to vanquish and remove them to flip the second specialty card over, and I still won against him playing as taskmaster (we were up and up the entire game, it was nerve wreaking). I want to say this is the way to remove allies to flip those specialty cards because if not it wouldn't be challenging enough to keep the game going for all players especially if you are playing a two person game. would appreciate thoughts on this.. mahalo.
So yes, you have to remove by just taking them from the realm and transferring then to your discard. Like you are seeing. They are used as payment during play. He is very powerful and currently the easiest to win with.

I bought this game recently and find that Ultron is just too easy to win. Do you have house rules or suggestions to make him a little more challenging to play as.
With Ultron to achieve your first two objectives when it's your turn can you literally just remove the cards from the board to achieve this or do they have to be removed by vanquished?
Appreciate your insight into Villainous. Question regarding Ultron: he plays WAY too fast in general, but ESPECIALLY since his upgrades accumulate. A 2 player match against Thanos is simply no fun. However, what if Ultron's upgrades REPLACE the previous version? Having access to the first upgrade for constant sentry regen when playing other sentries is OP, pure and simple. I can understand Thanos being able to choose from the collected Infinity Stones because it makes sense thematically, BUT is limited by the activation action to trigger it. Ultron's specialty is always "on" with precious little to limit it outside of the upgrade process itself in my suggested nerf. Do the official rules address this situation in any way? It doesn't even seem like heavy fate on Ultron would slow him down as the only action that gets blocked from heroes is relocate, which Ultron doesn't really need due to multiple drone fetch and assembly cards in his deck. What do you think?
If you truly wanna be evil with Ultron, use Jocasta to take Black Panther if you're facing a Killmonger player. Since Killmonger needs to kill Black Panther, he cant win if Black Panther is on your board, unless he sends allies to your board and uses a vanquish action. Although at that point, Black Panther becomes an infinity stone in that its you attempting to defend him and Killmonger attempting to kill him.

Ultron is kinda hard to stop when he gets the ball rolling. Not enough fate cards hurt him as much as they do to players using Hela or Thanos.

Sacrificed. Basically remove them as payment to flip the tile over :)
Had a question about Ultron's upgradea. Does he keep the previous upgrade everytime you go up 1?
Yes! You keep all the specialties. But can only use each 1 time per turn

As long as you can keep progressing to your goal you don’t have to defeat the heroes if you do not want to :) I’m glad you enjoyed the videos!

We ran out of power tokens in our game and I could only seen to get to 11 power tokens. Can you gain more power tokens than are in the game box?
You can use any other substitute. There isn’t a limit

Good thoughts! I mostly give Ultron to players learning the game. Its nice to have villains easier to play for those newer to the game!

Actually I think killmonger is able to use activate to bring BP back to his realm for 2 power.

It is a free action on your turn. Treat it like a cost. Remove the sentry’s to get the effect.
