Jeff is the consummate jazz drummer, his ability to interject lightning fast bursts with incredible crash accents .... and his amazing brush work .... just perfection at work 👏👏
I have found myself, as of late, modeling my playing more and more on Jeff’s. We play in similar groups and situations, so his approach makes sense. This tune burns and shows the power and control Jeff has. It also reminds me of Mel Lewis, who was also a big influence on Jeff. Well done sir, well done.
My favorite living drummer. My favorite drummer of all time is Joe Morello. Master technicians who deliver everything perfectly. I notice the cymbal sizes, pitches and total configuration is the same for these Sabian cymbals as his past Bosphorus Hammer Series. Both brands sound great but I guess Sabian paid him more to switch. I can't blame them. He is THE MAN! This is not to belittle his trio. They are great, as well.
Originally Bosphorus, then Hamilton, Stanton Moore and a third drummer borrowed people from Bosphorus to start Crescent (blue and red logos)...still Turkish made...but owned and developed by the artists. Then Sabian bought Crescent and moved it to Canada(black labels)...making them in house with artists guidance. Just today...Mark Love and Jeff did a live stream announcing new Hammertones with HH logos. Stanton is now with Zildjian...there are now 5 version of his Trash Crash...Bosphorus, Crescent (Turkey), Crescent(Sabian), the new Zildjian Lunar Crash and the revised Bosphorus New Orleans version (with 6 craters instead of 7)...pretty sure the Bosphorus Jazz Master line is the old Hamilton line renamed.
Jeff Hamilton makes time visible! Incredible drummer.

His hands are like silk.
My favorite living drummer. Period.
Joe Morello is my favorite of all time. However, Jeff may eventually knock him off my pedestal.
This is just amazing. The whole Band is swinging like crazy and Jeff has a beautiful touch on the Drums. Fantastic!
Superb trio.

@@bryanherward4679 Wow! What a family tree! Thanks for the info.
It's music!!
Jeff Hamilton … … a total inspiration! The rest of the band aren't bad too!!
Very nice
He can sure swing
I might be mistaken but Hamilton appears to be playing the Texas Shuffle.
It's actually the jazz shuffle - shuffle on the snare with the left hand, play the standard jazz pattern with right hand.
Tamir !
