They can survive all the way down to 15 degrees without protection in ground so can meiwa kumquat. Another great variety of citrus is owari satsuma and brown satsuma.
Hi thanks for making this video. just purchased and potted my first kumquat last week . How often do you use the pellets and how much do you use? Also I heard you mentioned worms do you recommend I pick some up as we. I’m going to head out and pick up the supplthis weekend. Thanks in advance for the advice
Our kumquats start ripening in the middle of summer. We let them hang on the tree until they are bright orange. We've noticed they are the sweetest at that time. The skin is the sweetest part of the kumquat! We eat them right off the tree like grapes.
Thank you for the great video!! I livein zone 8 a, so do I need to keep the kumquat in full sun or full sun with afternoon shade. Please advise and appreciate your time
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I am well aware of the term. I’ll be sure to make the appropriate changes, so something like that doesn’t happen again.
Have you ever tasted a Kumquat? They are fantastic if you love citrus!

We have an Owari Satsuma and are very excited to grow it! They are supposed to be heavy producers!

We use blood and bone meal. They both come in a 3 or 4lbs bag. They are cheapest per pound at tractor supply. $9.99 each bag.
You can buy just plain fishing worms at Walmart fishing desk. Depending your pot size, if it is a 24 inch wide pot I would buy 2 containers of worms!
We buy our worm castings at tractor supply too 🪱🪱
Thank you so much😊
What do you use for fertilizer?
I have a ton of kumquat growing but not sweet.
We love using the pellet style blood meal and bone meal. We get it from tractor supply company, it's a bigger bag for the same price too!
