As bittersweet as the ending is, I can't help but love it. It's simple, but it it adds the kind of weight to the ending you didn't really see from console games of this era. One of my favorite OSTs on the snes too.
For the last boss, you can throw enemies over your head! That way ALL enemies can be used to damage the boss. Throwing them left or right only works on those with large hit boxes to hit the glass. I just finished this game last night and it was a nice ride.
There is a very wise saying I heard once. "We often believe that, were we to gain power, we would behave very differently from the people in charge now. The truth is that in order to gain power, we would have to become very much like them."
@Geardog24: Ever heard of the old saying "Meet the new boss; same as the old boss"? In the ending of this game, it's "Meet the new boss; even worse than the old boss." The original 1987 arcade game that this was remade from had a downer ending as well.
I didn't remember the game was developed by Natsume, but I immediately deduced that by the style of visuals, music and sound effects, similar to Wild Guns from the same year. Back when development teams were much smaller, their style was more easily recognizable even when games they developed were very different in genre and gameplay (look at Westwood's productions in the early 1990s for another example). I recalled the game being pretty brutal even with no blood, since the ninjas, while droids, are still disposable soldiers, and the ending is very in line with that.
Recently played this game, and I love it. I kind of played the remastered version in it with some of the characters got a little upgrade in their appearance.
My god, the Banglar part is a master piece game play, amazing that you can only throw the large enemies to Banglar's machine, but some how to avoid the other enemies' attack and keep killing them in order to farm the large enemies show up. Man! Amazing game play!
It's far easier with Ninja and Kamaitachi since you can throw all kind of enemies to Banglar and only not the big ones. Kunoichi is kind of screwed over in this fight due how her forward throw work. Also, random trivia: the Ninja Warriors arcade game did not have proper final boss. You cornered Banglar after dealing with a hallway chock full of his underlings and killed him in one hit. You can imagine why they changed that in this version.
Actually, Kunochi has a hair throw in which she lobs the enemy behind her, making it easy to hit Banglar's pod. It is achieved by grabbing the enemy and pressing UP + ATTACK. I don't know if most people knew this since well, it's a beat-em-up. It shouldn't be complicated. But I do know it because well, having just one system that your parents only allowed you to play on summer vacations means a lot of game obsession and time to learn the intricacies of each game you have. XD
Too bad he got tiny dicked in the name department. Everyone else gets Kunoichi or Kamaitachi, he's just called Ninja. They could've kept the theme going by naming him Shinobi or Kage or who knows?

Awesome gameplay dude. Is there any reason to only use forward throws on the last boss? Maybe to make the game more challenging, because it' much more easier if you throw the enemies up.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Because it tackles a sort-of grim reality that sometimes those that save us are just other bigger villains toppling the weaker villains that once ruled us.
cycobear86 Hopefully, I can program good games by the time I'm out of High School so I can perhaps make a fan made sequel in which you play as three new robots, and fixing some of the problems in the previous.(*cough cough STAGE 6 BOSSES cough cough*) Side note, WHY IS IT THAT WHEN A DEVELOPER MAKES AN IRRITATING SHIT OF A BOSS, THEY MAKE YOU FACE OFF AGAINST TWO OF THE BASTARDS?
@@insanemindset2667 Well it's not getting a sequel, but it is being remade as Ninja Warriors Yet Again for Switch, PS4 and other consoles. With two new robots.
@David Mascolo: Not only that, but Hiroyuki Iwatsuki, one of the composers of the soundtrack to this game (the other one being Norio Tate, aka Yasuo Yamate), worked on the soundtrack to Wild Guns.
This is the best game on either SNES or MD(excellent graphics for that time, excellent music, and excellent gameplay/bosses)! If you don't believe me, become an EXPERT with Ninja bot and you will see...
@@BrokenG-String good detail, if because in normal I had finished, but in hard I played it very little, if in normal, in the advanced levels already appear hard enemies, as it would be in hard, hahahaha.

this game is so underrated.
Now remake
With graphics improve and wide screen feature.
@@LaTabernaDeVile @Bryan Sabater there is a remake with those things
Nah, it got way too much praise in the day
2:51 Okay, by SNES standards that warping/cloaking effect is pretty cool.

I just finished this game last night and it was a nice ride.
Yep, I figured that out when trying to inflict damage on the last boss yesterday
a true gem from the 16-bit era.
And return in ps4 and switch
I love how the only way to defeat the badguy is to throw all his henchmen at him
It's the funniest when u play as Raiden in the remaster. He could easily just rip him out of the vault 😂
In awe at the sound design for this one!
Ah, another great hiddem-gem from the Snes era!
Wow, what a depressing ending.
geardog24 "some things never change"
Once, there was assasins called "yamato". This men kill themselves or by their master employer's hand; once their missions are fulfilled
Nice middle finger to the players who got through this hard game.

Holy crap this game and Power Rangers The Movies use nearly the same music and sound effect styles.
Hiroyuki Iwatsuki, one of the composers of this game, has also worked on the soundtracks to the Super NES Power Rangers games.
great man this game is really very hard
Agreed 100%
6:19 I remember playing this fight as a kid and just saying to myself "Shit, there's two of em." and just an all out brawl ensuing. Good times

Yeah, that's right. I haven't played the game in years, I forgot that bit.
Absolutely loved that game !
You should really use the hair throw against the final boss in this game! Though it was cool how you managed to beat him without taking damage anyway
I don’t have any friends who like playing old school games with me. They always get bored by the second level...
):
I know the feeling, bro.

I'm shocked that they didn't call it The Ninja Warriors Again in North America.

When they self destruct there are 72 virgin robots they get.

This game made me remember the Power Rangers of the SNES
PW is the best game in franchise.

Não adianta entregar flores pra Kunoichi. Ela te esmagará porque é um robô e não tem sentimentos.

Great game, i remember when i was child.
The red ninja woman has a move where she throws enemies over her shoulder using her hair. Perfect for final boss.
Great job

It took me forever to beat the last boss. Yet, I remember screaming as I did it. My folks must've gotten shot by how loud I yelled. lol
you had some struggle at the final boss ^^'
Very good...
Como pode eu nunca ter ouvido falar deste jogo aqui no BRASIL??? Ótimo jogo que nunca joguei.

Hey, Shadowserg, did you hear about the news that both this game, and its arcade prequel, are being made and expanded?
4:00 oh doctor made me saw The light
Man, I do agree either!😊
The first boss, Big Soldier, remind me to Jack from Tekken series
I would love to get this game for the SNES, but it is so damn rare and EXPENSIVE. Damn collectors and scalpers.
I bought a repro cart for 15$ wrks great.
Emulators are your friend.
They are releasing a remake later this month so you are in luck
Good stuff. That last boss fight though...No up throw?
how defeat The last boss please help me
You have to throw certain enemies (robot or big guy) at the glass screen of the final boss.
and it's far easier with robot guy. it's the easiest boss if you use that char. lol
