As a Gambian who has been living in the U.S for 6 yrs because of Uni, my homeland has been calling me for 4 yrs now but I get a lot of opposition from family and friends. I got told to be grateful and that others want to come here. Not that I am not grateful because everything is Qadr of Allah, But I just want to go back and just study the Quran. I am happy for you. True, a lot of Gambian see abroad as heaven; mostly because of poverty and for some because of the flashy lifestyle. I always tell them that the west is not a place for the Muslims but they don't understand where I am coming from.

When mihajireen migrated from Macca to Al Medina the first thing they established a masjid.
Gambia is already a land of Muslims , aren’t there any mosques you can pray?
I made hijra to Algeria several year ago and masjids are numerous here and new mosques are being built but at fajr are mostly empty except for the first two or three lines.

    • @babasaho5787

I'd like to broaden my horizon because my priority is being around other Muslims. The economy matters too because I'm a single parent. I don't want to lose hope but i think about how I'd be able to support children and myself.

Salaam brother. While I totally understand your sentiment. You must understand that the financial capabilities you have are more than local Gambians. I lived in Gambia for several years and was even married there and while I enjoyed my time, I realise that the Gambia definitely isn’t perfect and there is a lot of corruption and dark forces (black magic and marabouts) to deal with there. My overall message is to approach things with open eyes and be aware.

I live in Morocco, and it is very difficult for me to tell the young people in their difficult and hopeless situations what you are saying. And tell me, do you live in the same difficult situation, or have you been able to afford something nice for yourself and your family with British pounds? Please be a bit more cautious because we know how we would feel if we were in that situation.

The da'wah of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamā'ah is the da'wah of Salafiyyah my brother, there's no difference I promise you, the deficiency may be found in how some people portray the da'wah - that's true - but the reality is that Salafiyyah is the pure da'wah that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم taught his companions, who taught their students etc. right until today. May Allāh bless you.

You are speaking truth brother. BUT did you know that Jesus Christ is the only way. Yeshua is the only God. Islam was brought to west Africa to enslave Africans. Islam was never a African man's religion. The Arab's brought it to enslave Africans spiritually and mentally. Please do you research on how Islam came to Africa. You will b very shocked.
    God bless you.

Having left Christianity almost 16 years ago, I assure you I've done PLENTY research and I've never been more certain than I was when I made the complete personal choice to accept Islam.
Thank you for your comment, however, I also advise you to carry out some (unbiased) research and I'm sure YOU will be shocked. That notion of the Arabs using Islam to enslave the Africans is a very weak concept now, that argument may have worked on some people before but we're in 2025 now, knowledge is very much available and yet people are still regurgitating this stuff.... thats crazy! Please look into how "so-called" Christianity was forced upon the Africans during the slave trade and the various methods they used to indoctrinate and collonise those Africans who were already Muslim....
If you need me to direct you to some sound sources then let me know.
      Good evening.
