Appeared for 2 interviews and got selected for both. So, if you are passionate about getting job then you need to do the following.
1. Give a crisp and clear introduction about yourself with CONFIDENCE. This might be a gateway for you to the job. Actually you can guide your interviewer by your introduction itself. The next questions would be definitely something related to your introduction. I usually mention competitive programming in my introduction, then interviewer will be asking questions regarding it.
2. Research about the company. If you are applying for ABC company you should be aware about the company, and their working domains about employee hierarchy etc.
3. Be aware about your job role. Suppose if you are applying for a Software developer role, then there will be a qn like. Where do you see yourself after 5 years? Then you should understand,what position you can achieve after this five years. Like a Senior software developer or a lead. Never ever say blind answers like, will be pursuing my Masters, or Woking there at ABCD company( a competent company of ABC or a company better than ABC) . This would be a gateway to rejection 🙂. So be aware when you are answering.
4. If you are not aware about the question the interviewer asked, then you should say like sorry Sir, I'm not familiar with this concept and will definitely check it later.
5. Never brag about yourself. Like, I'm intelligent, smart, hardworking etc. Instead, site your strong points with examples.
Prepare a good resume. (Keep it simple. Write things which are relevant for your job. Keep it in 1 page if possible)
1. If you are a fresher, if possible
never ever write career objective on your resume. But if you are professional you should write it. ( never copy paste it from the web) 🙂
2. Mention your contact details, mail id, gitbub, LinkedIn etc.
3. Education in chronological order. (Starting from the latest degree you are pursuing.) If you are a professional start with your experience and then education.
4. Mention your experiences.
5. Projects
6. Skills. Here you can mention the relevant skills you are aware about, which is beneficial for the particular job role.
7. Achievements. Write relevant achievements. Never write like won first prize in mango eating competition, when you are applying for a software engineer job role. 😁😁
8. Interested areas.
9. Extra curricular. Since I was applied for asoftware engineer job role. I wrote competitive programming and teaching.
For practicing coding and finding job online : hackerrank, hackerearth,codechef, top coder, code forces, interview bit, geekforgeeks etc will help you a lot. HACKEREARTH helps you to find even a job. Because some great companies opens their job opportunities through hackerrank. People are quite ignorant about it. Hackerrank is beginner friendly, so you can start doing algorithmic and problem solving challenges there. because developing logic for a problem is not a one day process. You need perseverance. After solving lot of questions on hackerrank, move on to global and national coding challenges on codechef, topcoder etc for experiencing competition around us. So find probelms from these sites. Try to solve it using your own brute force approach. Then try to optimize it. And finally if not possible refer others answers and get aquainted with it. Damn sure you will get into your dream Companies.
