My favorite Japanese music comes mostly from Morning Musume and other Hello! Project songs. However, one of my favorites is definitely Utada Hikaru's 'Flavor of Life'. I love singing but it's so low that I still have to practice this a lot :D 私が一番好きな日本の音楽はモーニング娘。やほかのハロープロジェクトの曲ですけど、やはり一番好きな曲はうただひかるさんの「Flavor of Life] です。歌うことが大好きですけどこの曲はすごく低いノートがあるので、練習しないとできません。
I like to learn through songs too, and I pick up new words while learning grammar as well, rather than memorising individual words that I can't connect to anything in my head.
