Give my love to the woman. It is so hard to have a son with a severe mental illness. As we say in support groups, "These are not casserole illnesses!" A casserole illness is where all your friends and family offer support, bringing food (casseroles), helping with yard work, shopping, etc., like they do if someone has a heart attack or other physical illness. The isolation is devastating, and just getting out of bed every morning to deal with life becomes hard. Thank you for helping her. You have no idea how much this means to her!
❤I was just going to write something similar. I am a mother, and it was tough enough without either of them having major “issues”. To the mother and son: I wish you both peace and love. I’m very sorry the son was hit by a car, and I am sure this does not help the situation. ❤
Not to mention that those who suffer from bipolar and Schizophrenia often don’t take the prescribed medications, which doesn’t help to manage to manage the diseases. To your specific point: Friends and neighbors often fear stopping by to help because unmediated patients can have strange behaviors that are foreign to them.
Honestly one of the best descriptions of living with mental illness I’ve come across. Even family and loved ones don’t always ‘get it’, but I don’t expect them to, how do you understand something you don’t have experience with. Great comment @miriamrighter1666 👍

This was obviously once a steep sloping block which someone managed to make a useable garden back and front. The roof on the open shed is good and will make a lovely area to sit in when cleaned. It is hard work but so satisfying when you see the results.

i wanted to cry with happiness, knowing what it must have cost you in scrapes, prickles etc. No one else would have done the yard for as well as you or any of the extras. Sweeping the walls and ceiling, etc. And all with a touch of land fill humor. Thank you
