Support for digging, the lava drills work on all tiers of dirt so as soon as you get t2 tools to dig down a bit, youre still good. The water thing, if the drill is below surface, it produces ice chunks and ice rocks, the water metler cant take the rocks so they bounce out, you can either set it up surface only and never get rocks, or set up a complicated conveyor system sending only ice into it
The big drills give resources. The easy one that costs 180 stone and some iron gives either iron ore or gold ore. It's also time based, so the longer you wait to collect, the larger the ore you get. As for the water maker, it's as others have said. You are getting 2 different things from the miners. So you gotta sort it to send one of them the other way.
You don't need a switch for the gem compressor, it works automatically. True the door stays closed sometimes, but it doesn't prevent you from grabbing the gem. As long as the compressor is nailed down, you can press E and grab the gem straight out! You can see the outline sometimes, but if not just watch for the reticle to turn blue. I see everyone hooking logic up to these things but really you don't need to at all.
It looks like you'll want just the ice clumps(those white snow balls) to go into the ice melter instead of the ice rocks Grill. I would try moving the melting assembly to the surface where you get only clumps. Keep going man, I'm lovin' this.

7:32 I wonder if you have two intakes link into a T pipe, and one pipe going to machines - is the pressure 2x in the pipe?
Dont think so, tried that in prior versions and never changed the pressure

For max efficiency pressure tanks should be put directly into drills. Not needed though unless that is the goal.
Hopefully there will be mods for the DLC soon. Specifically the infinite durability one.

All bones are only on the main map no need for the ferry
You are feeding your ice melter with stone instead of ice. The ice drill should be on top level, not underground.
