nice playing, the third tune is a Långdans from the fiddler Gössa Anders Andersson in Orsa. It fits good on the pipes.

Lovely :) I really like the sound of this instrument. It would be great for medieval tunes. Is the fingering similar to that of a tin whistle? How much would one cost to buy?

+Jim Anon It's about 400 euros. You can order here. Fingering is almost the same as a tin whistle but it has 2 thumb holes. www.bagpipesonoda.eu/

+hatao Thank you for the reply. I am left handed. Is it possible to play the chanter on this pipe left handed, or are any of the holes "turned / off centre" ?

    • @hatao

+Jim Anon The chanter is symmetric so left handed doesn't matter. The maker is very kind and easy to communicate so please ask Mr.Sonoda. Welcome to the pipe world!!

+hatao Yes. Thank you for the website address. One last thing.... is that hole second down from the top "double holed ?" If so, is it angled ? Thanks :)
P.S. This is my last question and then I'll leave you in peace.

+Jim Anon No problem. For my chanter all finger holes are single holes. But for the next chanter (it's coming now!) I asked it to have double holes on the top and second fingers for playing D/D# and C/C#. Mr.Sonoda's pipe has turn-able bottom hole (right hand pinky)for playing D/D#.

    Bra!
Steklåt från Särna, Vals från Enviken, Springlek (don't know that one), Säckpipelåt från Norra Råda.
I born about 30 km from Enviken. ;-)

+Anders Jackson Takk!! I had Stefan Ekedahl at my home last week. I want to go back to Sweden sometime!!

      畑山智明 oh, Stefan is great.
You are welcome. We do have a Säckpipe gathering in Dalarna each summer, after midsummer. And first week in July there are lots of Spelmansstämmor from Delsbo to Rättvik, passing Bingsjö (a 20 km north of Enviken).

+Anders Jackson Yes, I'm planning the next trip for 2017's summer. I will be better by then!!

So, you didn't get to Sweden this summer? If you come next summer, then contact me or Stefan before so you know when is the best time to come here for play. Would say first week in July would be best, as there are lots of Spelmansstämma around Dalacarlia then. And usually a Svensk Säckpipe meeting the weekend before that first week in July.
