I grew up in Yorkshire reading Georgette Heyer. I own a copy of every single book she ever had published. They are dear and cherished life-long friends that I still totally enjoy visiting with.
I recommended Austen to my mom and she asked someone at a garage sale if they had any Jane Austen books. They said, "No, but this is just as good." and handed her an old paper back copy of Frederica. She brought it to me. And so it began.
I love Heyer's books and read them over and over. Some I think I'll never read again and give them away. Then I end up buying them again. Almost all are now on my Kindle, quite an investment!
Ms.Kloester, I read your biography of GH and it's excellent. She is fortunate to have you as her biographer.
Thank you so much. How kind of you. I'll so glad you enjoyed it.

Her influence and contribution is impossible to overstate.

Great tribute Jen! Also loved your biography of Georgette Heyer. And now if we could only get a film adaptation made... :)

Heyer - she is the Agatha Christie of romance. I love her books!
You are so right, Ruth. Thanks for posting!
I just recently finished "The Grand Sophy." I also liked "Venetia" and "Sylvester."
G'day
