  • The Bible says that King Solomon conducted vast building projects from the north to the south in ancient Israel. But does the archaeological evidence corroborate such an account?
On today’s program, host Brent Nagtegaal speaks with archaeologist Christopher Eames about four ancient gatehouses that have been attributed to King Solomon’s era.

Amazing video. I have to do a presentation to my archaeology class about the Solomonic Gates and this new 4th gate should be a great point to talk about.

Thank you for taking the time to put together a magazine and also a video regarding biblical archaeology, something that generally gets poo pooed by most main stream so called scientists. I think the last 10 years has had some amazing finds that support the biblical record. If King David has been proven to exist, it's hard to say Solomon did not.

I know you are likely unaware...but the hosts of this channel...do not celebrate Christmas. They believe it to be pagan, with pagan origins. (Which is actually true). Just making you aware...they do not celebrate Christmas.

First thank you for the vid. Great stuff. I wonder if the new magnetic dating technique on the pottery from the Solomonic gates from Jerusalem, Gezer, et. al. could help further establish their dates more precisely. If you guys could coordinate the new magnetic dating of these four gates, that should be enough to get it published in Biblical Archeology Review.

do you know about Biblical Tamar Park and it's history. Archeological remains confirm that “Solomon… built Tamar (Tadmor) in the wilderness, within the land…of his dominion” (I Kings 9:19) and that three hundred years later King Josiah may have been the one who destroyed the pagan altar being used there at the time. “Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out” (I Kings 13:3).

Nice information. I don't understand why the narrator keeps using "BCE" instead of BC in dating. We don't need to please the world. Giving glory to Jesus in all things, is the way to go.

Because it stands for Before Common Era (BCE). Not everyone in the world believes the same as you.Even Not all Christians all believe the same thing.

Oh sure, perfect example of "main stream" archaeology coming along and deciding to use a "different" method of dating, calling it "new and better" to support their narrative against Solomon. why am I not surprised.

That's called progress. Wow, a newer, more accurate dating system is used and proves the prior system wrong. Must be a cover up. I mean we're still driving the same type of cars we did 50 years ago, right? Oh, wait we're not. Must be a cover up.🙄

2 Chronicles 3:1 « then Solomon began to build the temple (house) of Yahweh on the mount of Moriah..»
    (MOUNT OF MORIAH...)
¿ the esplanade of the mosque of the dome , does it look to чоυ a mountain..??
    !! An ESPLANADE...a HILL , it's not a mountain..!!
But still , if someone insist to see a mountain in stead of a hill , he's free to do it..
    Shalom
