Don't forget the episode where aliens were messing with their memories or something, and had them act out various scenes (and personalities) on the holodeck.
I love this scene. Jeri Ryan captured the Doctor's mannerisms and pompous attitude. And he's now able to taste food for the first time. Can you imagine that? Tasting all your favorite foods again like it's the first time you've had them? It would be quite an experience. And then again it's NY style cheesecake. I think we all acted like this the first time we had it.
The way she does the "Not unless you count Mr Neelix's Bolian souflee" with that little eye roll is perfect, it's exactly how I imagine Picardo would've done it as the Doctor himself
I wouldn't go as far as to say they're the _best_ actors among the other equally excellent actors like Kate Mulgrew; but the Doctor and 7of9 characters were certainly the more interesting ones.
@@JanetStarChild I don't know, but currently re-watching the series for the first time in years and I seriously can't get over how subtle and nuanced Seven of Nine is portrayed by Jeri Ryan. And the Doctor is such a full-bodied character and performance that it makes me excited to see him in any scene he's in. And when you put those two together in a scene it's about as close to perfection as you can get for a scene featuring two characters. A close second would be 7 and Janeway, but those generally are a little more serious or philosophical in tone. All due respect to the amazing actors on this show, but I'd absolutely agree that 7 and The Doctor qualify as the two best characters on the show and were portrayed brilliantly. But I get what you mean, the entire cast is brilliant as well.
I definitely agree wiht @ozanyoung2909. Maybe it's the writing, but I Mulgrew's Insaneway did nothing for me, and Beltran looked like he was trying to get fired off the show most of the time. When rewatching, I often fast forward through scenes that don't have Seven or the Doctor in them.
I love how Seven starts out with "Ugh... okay, I'll show you this isn't dangerous!" and then takes that first bite and and she's all of a sudden going "OMG!!! YUMMY!!!"

"Can it be used to create bio-weapons?" "Not unless you count Mr. Neelix's Bolian soufflet." I love the part where she replicates another cheesecake and then she gives him the half eaten one haha.
Jeri Ryan really is a brilliant actress. Most people just see the looks (can't really blame them). But when she spends most of the time in the voyager series acting really cold and serious then, in this episode, completely changes, also in "random thoughts" where she is swapping between completely different personalities every few seconds, shows real talent.
Agreed. Jeri Ryan is always a talented actress, and she had lots of range when the writers could write something worthy enough to showcase her skills. The show was improved by adding her to the cast. Greatly so. Her looks didn't hurt (and her catsuit was great), but it was her skill and acting gravitas that won me over during the course of the show.
@racer927 and how different species may not react to all the food ingredients the same. Like how you don't give chocolate to dogs... seven could have caused the dude harm or death.
And a bright white flash and suddenly you became a slice of cheesecake. And the replicator said to you: "It's actually me, the doctor, in here, hahahah." And then you woke up and realized you are Seven of Nine.
Would've been available already if we didn't spend all the budgets on destruction and pollution instead. There's a reason why Star Trek humanity is ahead of us.
+fuflang We already have those. There are some that make sugar scupltures that dissolve in your coffee or drink as well as things like chocolate, pastry or pasta. There's even one that cam make the dough and sauce for a pizza. You need to add your own toppings to it which might be cheating. They're still way off from making elaborate meals but you can print yourself something that tastes like a cheeseburger if you wanted. I don't think they're commercially available yet and probably cost several thousand dollars but they exist.
Jeri Ryan REALLY did a great job of acting like Dr. Schweitzer! She got so many mannerisms down beautifully! This makes me think she should've had a much, much bigger acting carreer!
