It doesn't matter that more horrible things happened under Bush, when you have so many people that don't care about material changes in people's real lives anyway, Trump was able to infuriate and blind them more than anyone. That's the only way he was more dangerous than any other Republican president. He was a gigantic flaming distraction that made it hard to impossible for anyone to talk about legislation that was really affecting people's lives, for more than a day before the next crazy Trump ringside attraction started.
