IMHO one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Anemone needs no language to bring tears, the sound of the guitar and the emotion in Saiki's voice get me every time.
People suggest Daydreaming more because it's definitely beautiful, and yet Anemone is the song that makes people cry without even knowing the words, the most emotionally powerful song.
This song is one of the best slow songs with two great guitar solos. It is greatly under appreciated. For me it is in top 5 of Band Maid, that means in top 20 in general of all songs.

I think it's the amount of emotion Saiki puts into the acoustic version she looks like she's going to cry so you feel like been allowed to see something private and special but your right more attention should be given to the studio version.

Anemone has been my goto song for the past 4 months, i listen to it everyday as for me it pretty much has the best of them as individuals all coming together in one song. Akane's drumming is my favourite drum track of any song ever, Saiki's vocals both alone and then together with Miku are beautiful and are my favourite of them, Misa is perfect as always and then Kanami, her second solo being Alvin Lee like getting that dirty les paul sound with pinched harmonics and again my favourite of hers. Forgot to mention Miku's lyrics......
@Darren McGregor I can't be 100% sure, we know for sure it's Kanami when they did the acoustic because we can see it. It just sounds typically Miku to me and I thought I knew the difference between Miku's and Kanami's voices sufficiently enough to be confident. Maybe there's someone out there with some inside knowledge that can clear this up. Mr Google is no help.

This song became really famous as one of the two acoustic songs from the Zepp Tokyo show in 2018 along with puzzle. Kanami and Saiki perform it as a duo with Kanami on guitar and backing vocals and Saiki with her deep sultry vocals which are to die for and so emotional. This is a performance that showed the huge quality and ability of the two artists. This and Daydreaming have great Santana style guitar solos from Kanami.

You see Kanami sing back up vocals when it is her "time to shine" with Sai-chan in a duet. In the electric version Miku has that duty. In Syanokadori (songbird) you see A-chan handle the backing vocals in the acoustic version. Anemone is either a sea creature like a jellyfish or a land based plants with no roots. What do they have in common? The sea anemone cannot move under its own power and thus winds up wherever the tides and current takes it. The land plant has no roots and is driven wherever the wind might take it. Showing that no matter what there are certain things that we cannot control. There is a strong correlation between the words Miku wrote and her winding up a star in a rock n roll band. She did not see that coming when she was a failed idol in Lil Cumin but l assure you ko bato sure did. (Ko is Japanese for small and bato is pigeon or dove.) Best and most compelling rock band currently in existence. And Sacramento really, really likes these guys.
It's just flat-out RIDICULOUS how many Goddess-level songs this band has produced. "Anemone" is definitely one of 'em. And good call on the MV selection! During singing "Anemone," Saiki gets overcome with emotion and almost cries. You can see it very clearly when she looks up to the ceiling, trying to prevent tears from falling. "Anemone" is a really emotional song for sure. One of the best I've ever heard.
Anemone is a gorgeous and powerful song that has been at the top of my all-time list since I first heard it. When you get to Conqueror you'll hear a few more mid-tempo songs. Not so much on Unseen World.
Anemone has been out many times in various forms such as covers [ th-cam.com/video/UHYTMCdyyfk/w-d-xo.html ], fan-produced MV's /[see old reactor vids ] and their well-known live acoustic version that includes Puzzle. It has probably generated a few hundred thousand more views from these sources all tolled. This is a beautiful, well produced song that should be in the tens of million views. Many people just don't seek out songs that aren't put in front of their faces or even know what a quality band is unless others verify it for them. Saiki and Kanami are an absolute dream duo vocally (especially in the often mentioned acoustic version), and the rest of the gang with their instruments make it another masterpiece (for me). ✨ It's nice to see that this lyric video, which I think is absolutely amazing, has found its way back onto TH-cam. It was one of the first videos I saw after discovering the band. Shortly after, however, it was deleted and could only be found on a certain Chinese site, which is a shame imho. Thanks for your honest reaction. I think you really spoke my mind... This studio version of Anemone is one of my top 10. Unlike acoustic version, it's Miku singing with Saiki. Saiki is singing with a soft, sweet voice in the beginning that matches with Miku's vocal here and it also feels like their emotions are in sync as well. Because the vocals are deliberately holding back, that contrast with Kanami's solos make the song even more powerful imo. She really let's her guitar cry. The entire band is feeling the song while playing it. I wonder if bandmaid members were going through breakups or hard relationships around 2016-2018 era... Oh I also love the way you called bandmaid ladies are 'whole different animals'

I think the lyrics are very deep, which you can't imagine from the appearance of MIKU in Magic Time. It's the same night song as Sayonakidori. You should try the acoustic version sung by SAIKI and KANAMI !

I totally agree, for me the best of the best. These two Kanami solos make it even more beautiful, especially the second, the bluesy one.
