Ironically, Deren is used to make the run more consistent and less crit-reliant.
I'm a humble S4 Moore user, and she barely didn't have enough damage to kill the elites with 1 crit on her ult. She needed 2 of them per ult and I didn't want to grind for hours until the stars align, so we're calling Deren to the rescue.
If you are a disgusting, whale S5 Moore owner, or have access to a +20% physical damage buff, you most likely don't need her.
One good thing though, is that you won't even need a single crit to take care of the green elites with Moore+Deren. The elite dolls are unfortunately a tiny bit more resilient, and will require a crit on either 1 instance of Moore's ult, or on Deren's ECB. But hey, that's 3 chances to roll a crit rather than 2.
