Im ex army. I joined at 18 left at 29 been out the army for 3 years. I was medically discharged for PTSD and Bipolar and I still work full time. There isn’t any excuse at all, my illnesses are that bad I was told I can still claim PIP and work but I don’t because I can work and do work and someone out there will be worse off than me who can’t work and that PIP claim should go to them. The amount of people who openly laugh about claiming benefits and lying about being mentally unwell, it’s far too easy to get diagnosed with something these days, GPs and mental health teams dont question people enough over these subjects. Everyone’s telling each other how to play the system and it’s wrong! There are genuine people out here who can’t work due to ill health and mental health and can’t get help yet we have liars and scroungers getting everything! The system is broken

I worked all my life since the day i left school. Im currently on Universal credit and on PIP (VERIFYED) by my GP for Osteoarthritis, COPD. I also require 2 new knee's, im only 52. Im scared how this will affect me in the long term. Im in pain everyday or at least 2 out of every 3 days

One would hope that if this latest policy does come to fruition, that it will be targeted at those who have played the system for years and aren’t ill and could work. The Tories tried a similar thing, but wrongly, I only heard about genuinely ill people having to fight for their right to benefits. So many people are disillusioned and annoyed at this latest government after only 4 months in power, and I am one of them complete with my husband and family. Living with pain is horrendous and our neighbour struggles daily with it, but he does get his state pension and military pension. Having to deal with the pain and to worry about the prospect of changes to benefits must be disheartening. There are many people working to help people regarding this in the community, and where we live they do cheap meals and drop ins to have a chat and a brew. They can help with benefits etc so don’t be afraid to reach out. There are many injustices we face at the present, but many good too speaking up to fight them as well. My late mum always said keep your chin up and there is always someone worse off than yourself. Another one was to count your blessings and I do that everyday. I appreciate what I have but I still feel empathy and understanding for those struggling. Take care.

I worked for the BBC for 25 years and I took off a total of 9 days sickness the whole time that I was there. We only had 2 weeks and 3 days holiday per year. I was freelance for 11 years and took 1 day off sick in the whole time. Since I have stooped working in TV and Films I have worked as a taxi driver and as an airport transfer driver and if I do take sick leave which is extremely rare, I do not earn any money. I do other things as well. I have never claimed benefits. There are too many scroungers milking the system. I was also a landlord and my tenants were all on benefits. As soon as they were being paid housing benefits direct they just stopped paying their rent which was being paid to, them by the tax payer. A lot of my tenants were able to work but they were just too lazy and their children will grow up doing the same. They would trach my properties and they just didn`t care a fig. The government decided to pay the benefits including the housing benefits to the claimants saying that they wished to " empower " them and get them used to dealing with money. They should not have been allowed power over the housing benefit at all and they should have been left to handle only jobs seekers allowance and other benefits excluding the housing allowance. I subsequently lost all of my properties and all of my savings. Plus I spent my tax free pension allowance and an inheritance on paying my mortgages which should have been covered by the rents that were not being paid. I cannot claim benefits and so I have to continue to work. My prediction here is that as soon as the big boys have bought up all of the cheap rental properties because many landlords either go bankrupt or just sell off because not worth the effort of renting out., the big, rich, powerful elite will lobby the government for the housing benefits to be paid to the landlords. What is the mantra ---- you will own nothing and you will be happy. Farms will be bought by the conglomerate's and they will then be able to control prices in a never ending upward trajectory. We must all stand together and fight the injustice and the greed of the energy companies etc.

I agree. I suffer with anxiety and depression but I take medication which helps me and I have worked since I left school and I'm now 45. My job is cleaner and dinner lady at my local Infant and nursery school. I love both my jobs and it helps my depression. My argument is that if you're on medication and you can manage any sort of job, even if you have to work from home, then I think those people could get a job to help themselves mentally and physically ❤

Furlough was the worst thing to happen to this country. People now think they can get money without working.
I worked for the BBC for 25 years and I took off a total of 9 days sickness the whole time that I was there. We only had 2 weeks and 3 days holiday per year. I was freelance for 11 years and took 1 day off sick in the whole time. Since I have stooped working in TV and Films I have worked as a taxi driver and as an airport transfer driver and if I do take sick leave which is extremely rare, I do not earn any money. I do other things as well. I have never claimed benefits. There are too many scroungers milking the system. I was also a landlord and my tenants were all on benefits. As soon as they were being paid housing benefits direct they just stopped paying their rent which was being paid to, them by the tax payer. A lot of my tenants were able to work but they were just too lazy and their children will grow up doing the same. They would trach my properties and they just didn`t care a fig. The government decided to pay the benefits including the housing benefits to the claimants saying that they wished to " empower " them and get them used to dealing with money. They should not have been allowed power over the housing benefit at all and they should have been left to handle only jobs seekers allowance and other benefits excluding the housing allowance. I subsequently lost all of my properties and all of my savings. Plus I spent my tax free pension allowance and an inheritance on paying my mortgages which should have been covered by the rents that were not being paid. I cannot claim benefits and so I have to continue to work. My prediction here is that as soon as the big boys have bought up all of the cheap rental properties because many landlords either go bankrupt or just sell off because not worth the effort of renting out., the big, rich, powerful elite will lobby the government for the housing benefits to be paid to the landlords. What is the mantra ---- you will own nothing and you will be happy. Farms will be bought by the conglomerate's and they will then be able to control prices in a never ending upward trajectory. We must all stand together and fight the injustice and the greed of the energy companies etc.

I have run a social badminton club for over 40 years. On a voluntary basis because I love the game. Most Saturdays I welcome a happy bunch of youngsters to the club. Nobody is going to prevent me from this fun once a week event.

I agree. I suffer with anxiety and depression but I take medication which helps me and I have worked since I left school and I'm now 45. My job is cleaner and dinner lady at my local Infant and nursery school. I love both my jobs and it helps my depression. My argument is that if you're on medication and you can manage any sort of job, even if you have to work from home, then I think those people could get a job to help themselves mentally and physically ❤
