Maintaining the Cologne Cathedral (which is built out of sandstone, which you wouldn't guess by the colors due to car exhaust) still costs a pretty penny (which is why the church gave up ownership decades ago...)

I've spent almost a year re-creating this on my survival world, and I'm almost to the 3 minute mark... This is such an impressive build, it still is the best gothic cathedral out there 7 years later. Great job guys.
Ringer Jake Seriously though, the best cathedral is by GNRFrancis, and he doesnt get nearly enough credit for his build, his build is probably twice maybe 3 times the size of this easily.
OuO this is LITERALLY the most impressive, detailed structure i've ever seen built in minecraft! (even the mountains and the landscape around the cathedral are beautiful!)

Although it's not explicitly said, it is definitely based off St. Stephan's Cathedral and Notre-Dame (St. Stephan's isn't probably an inspiration but the style, especially with the roofs reminds if it).
Was diese Kathedrale definitiv gegenüber fast allen anderen auszeichnet ist die liebevolle Sorgfalt mit der sie gebaut wurde.... zum Beispiel das Gewölbe bei 1:55 .... kaum einer macht sich die Mühe und entwickelt ein 6- rippiges Kreuzrippengewölbe das auch noch gut aussieht. Genau genommen klatschen die meisten Leute einfach Tonnengewölbe an die decke oder bauen sogar flache Decken in ihre Kathedralen x_x. Auf diese Kathedrale könnt ihr euch echt was einbilden, Respeckt ;D

It seems like to actually build true gothic style architecture in minecraft it must be a mega build to get all the detail of gothic buildings.
