In this performance, David Ruffin does his hit solo song "My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me). I love hearing when the Temptations incorporate their solo work into the group.
If only we could hear Dennis do some of his Contours' tunes, some of Glenn's previous group "The True Reflection", and personally, I would've really liked to hear Richard do some of his Monitors' songs. It's really a shame he missed out on the Monitors' reunion later. Can you imagine "Greetings, This is Uncle Sam" live?
I learned a lot throughout the editing of this video. I had no idea there was an unreleased David Ruffin album entitled "David" not released until 2004, unfortunately over a decade since he passed. I also learned there was more than zero pictures of David with a lion, which I can't say I expected.

The unmistakable voice of David Ruffin. He was here for a purpose. Look how much he left us. Beautiful songs . And of course his beautiful voice.
Speaking of "swag", a breezy self confidence, well Mr David Ruffin had swag before swag became swag. You go Mr David Ruffin, the way he delivers those spoken or singing lines is like no other.
Here's what is interesting. My Whole World Ended was originally meant to be a Temptations single with David Ruffin as the lead. That would have been ANOTHER hit for the Temptations if David had stayed (or hadn't been fired) or whatever. Amazing on how things come full circle!
