it's kind of sad how all the Shoe and Slipper Factories have all closed down. Once we had The Cotton trade and all the Coalmines. Everything is gone now. It Seems it's cheaper to import from overseas and sod the Rossendale workers. I worked for 9 years in a Rossendale Shoe Factory it was great fun working there we were like one big happy family.

Interesting that the Lean system shows agile better and the team in cell pulls together. Management though can’t decide how to restructure pay that quick when the ladies might be way more productive if still paid by the pair. “We like being faster, not sure if we want to pass that on” Wonder how they solved it.

I work in this mill now, it's a warehouse for an online second hand book shop. Council decided it would be better put to use as a business then flats. Has flooded but ground floor has been tanked and the whole structure has had remedial works done.
