That reading about the toad was top class. Truly superb writing and Tom's voices added so much to it.

Well done Tom - you predicted Sunak as future PM correctly.

I was very impressed when he said that. Good instincts.

And the prediction of Rishi Sunak as PM by the end of the year was spot on - but via Liz Truss and a whole lot of drama!

The 'Toad of Toadhall' extract is inspired.

Incredible win for Bj , he then does everything to please the people that did not vote for him , none of whom will ever warm to him , meanwhile leaving all the people that did vote for him standing in the cold .
Kicked out by MPs who betrayed the working classes that came out and put them into power, all them manipulated by men behind the stage.

I’ve never got this Johnson is an ‘entertainer’ business. Early doors many of us found him about as entertaining or charismatic as typhus.

I first became aware of him as London Mayor....he came across as a crook and a buffoon.

Johnson wanted to be Churchill but ended up as a mini Trump. That’s a steep descent. As a bookseller, I sold him a set of Gibbon’s “Decline and Fall..” many years ago - he bought it for his then 4 year old son like he was laying down wine for his ancestors. I imagine the dust settling on that set ever since, its ironies undigested by this showman classicist.

Tom was right about Sunak being the PM at the end of the year (2022), but I think he was predicting he'd be the next PM after Johnson. He had no notion of Truss being PM for less time than it takes for a lettuce to rot!

Even listening to this now, 7 months on it's quite funny to hear these predictions

It’s funny to listen to this in May 2024. The Tories gave us the Toad and then the Lettuce. The Tories should be renamed the Stupid party.

I think it's already time for you to update your public on events since Boris' demise from No.10. So much has happened, little good sadly but your take on it would at least make me smile.

The comparison of Johnson and Reagan seems downright strange. In part, Reagan was a strong movement conservative.

The only thing I know about modern uk politics is the picture of Boris on the wire holding the flags and the picture of him next to lord bucket head

    April 2024 comment...
"Who do you think will be prime minister at the end of this calendar year, Tom?"
    "Rishi Sunak."
"I don't think it will be Rishi Sunak. He's very very small. He's too short."

How can a known lying charlatan give integrity to anything, never mind democracy, when he has none himself. You stay in your echo chamber but the rest of us know you can not polish a turd.
