Those are good for a couple of bucks to have fun with. Only negative is the distortion around the edges.
I want to get one of those to try with my phones built in 10x telephoto (100x digital) and get 180x 1800x zooms

Thank you for the kind words!. It's been over 4 years since I made this video. I've been through several other phone brands. Now using LG. I no longer use the lens as It didn't work with certain cameras, like my LG.
I've moved on to more expensive camera gear.
I did this video with two phones and no Internet back then.
They have probably came out with newer models by now. Check apexel website for the latest version.

It is a Vanguard Espod Plus 203AP. I've had it for several years And love it. I bought a cheap smartphone adapter from Amazon to place on top.

Was looking to get this but unfortunately the picture quality through the zoom lens isn't good enough for my needs ( the colour abbourations ,where you lose the colour definition are too pronounced) so thanks for saving me from the cost & disappointment of an impulse purchase. Like your down to earth presentation.

Andres Rebata I had to double check before I replied. It won’t allow playback using the remote shutter. In both picture and video playback, when I press the top button, the volume on my iphone 7 plus goes up. When I press the bottom button, nothing happens. It might operate differently with a Samsung device.

David Reyes I’m in eastern Washington state. My only complaint...no high speed internet. I do everything with my iphone, action cams and two bars of T-mobile service. We just received cell service two years ago.

It's automatically set on 18x zoom, you only can adjust the focus

is the zoom level changeable? or is fixed in 18x? can this lens work less than 18x? for example 8x or 12x? can anyone help me?
Is the 18x zoom lens adjustable? What does it look like if it's not zoomed out?
It is set at 18x. You can only adjust the focus.
Thank you for the info and I feel stupid but how do you see out of the lens once it's clipped on? I received mine in the mail today and was following the video but am totally confused as to how to make it work with the camera. Help please!
Penny Whitaker Did you place the phone in camera mode?. Do you have it on the right smartphone lens?. My iPhone 7 plus has two lenses on front. Place the phone in camera mode first. Then place the telescopic lens on, to align it with correct phone aperture.
Troys Hobbies I have an IPhone 6s Plus . I'm not sure what you mean by 2 lenses ?
Penny Whitaker did you adjust the telescopic lens on the clip on, itself. It can be adjusted and it slides back and forth to line up with the phones lens.
🎉Thanks from Germany, it helped a lot to judge the quality of pictures possible. If I had to document an UFO appearance I would find it helpful but not for quality- pictures/videos....there it is disappointing. But it offers decent quality compared with real life binoculares.Thanks a lot !

@@OlinsDiary I switched to OnePlus phone's about a year ago. You can use a lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter and buy a cheap 3.5mm lapel mic that clips to your shirt and plugs into the phone.

Priscilla Proud You need to screw it on the clamp. Once screwed on, it can be adjust up and down to line up with your camera.
