I could never forget about James and the Giant Peach, The Secret of Nimh, and Balto. I watched them constantly as a kid. I’ve never seen The Brave Little Toaster, but I always did watch the VHS tape commercials constantly so that was one I’ll never be able to forget. Plus I saw The Prince of Egypt for the first time last year thanks to one of my favorite artists, Celtic Woman, singing the song from the film and it being my comfort song whenever I’m down and out, and it’s my all time favorite religious film and I’ve now seen it at least a few dozen times
People always forget about The Pagemaster, while it doesn't start out animated, it quickly changes and with a cast including Christopher Lloyd, it was a master piece!
I saw and remember the Pagemaster very well. It may not have been perfect nor got much good write ups, but it still was a truly magical movie, being turned from live action to cartoon. And the song Whatever you Imagine is truly heart warming.
The PageMaster is a favorite childhood movie of mine. Not just the cast of Whoopi Goldberg and Patrick Stewart but I love the song “Whatever You Imagine”

I loved Balto. Had some funny moments on top of heart warming along with heroic scenes. Balto was the ultimate underdog that rose above his own misgivings and became the savior of a small town in Alaska known as Gnome. One of my favorite scenes is still, "who better to take on a wild goose chase than a goose? Eh?"🤣 It also taught me a valuable lesson of no matter how difficult life can get, don't give up. Face it with grim determination, never let them see weakness and most important of all NEVER surrender to despair. Fight against the futile and always rage against the dark because that's proof of the kind of person you are. A warrior.
I'm in my mid 40s and I definitely didn't forget that these films from my childhood existed. Especially the ones from the 80s. Also, An American Tail and All Dogs Go To Heaven could easily be an Honorable Mention.

I've always been a huge fan of animation. A few years ago, I did this thing where I watched every animated film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios from Snow White to Moana (the most recent one at the time; I've been staying caught up with each new film up to Strange World). It was a fascinating experience, as I got to see 80+ years of animation history pass by. Where the 90s are concerned, I believe The Rescuers Down Under is the forgotten child. It's sadly overshadowed by classics like The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, Aladdin, and other notables of the decade. This movie needs a lot more love and attention than it gets.
You can never unsee Brave Little Toaster...never. You can never forget it either. I am glad that you mentioned Cats Dont Dance too because I really enjoyed that as a kid.
I was OBSESSED with The Brave Little Toaster as a little kid - my dad even made paper eyes and a mouth and put them on the side of our toaster (my mom and I brought it to my kindergarten one day for a breakfast event.)
"The Brave Little Toaster" is one of those kids movies you watch as an adult and go "This was a kids movie?!?!". Still love it, just able to appreciate its content and story better as an adult able to grasp the concepts and story.
I am in my 40s and grew up with the Chipmunks adventure. I own it on dvd and have made my nieces watch it, A LOT! And my sister and I watched Race for Your life Charlie Brown so much as kids and the one where they go to France. This list makes me ao happy!

Couple of others I remember from my childhood that have defenitly been forgotten by most: "Rockadoodle" and "Rover Dangerfield". Again, ones you watch as an adult and defenitly can't believe these were marketed for kids.

The Black Cauldron (1985) The Great Mouse Detective (1986) The Swan Princess (1994) I'm not sure if this movie is forgotten or not: Anastasia (1997) I'd say Anastasia is more remembered than the movies on this list but it's not remembered like other animated Disney movies plus Anastasia isn't even a part of the Disney princesses, which she really should be.

I've watched The Adventures of Prince Achmed and man it is a sight to behold; one of the best adventure movies I've ever seen. I came across it after watching Michel Ocelot's silhouette animation movies. I can't believe this much charm can exist in one of the first animated movies, from 1926. Kudos for keeping it in no.1 position.
Brave Little Toaster?!! I can never forget that movie! That was my childhood right there. Watching it again today I now understand alot more of the jokes and adult humor thrown in. And yes, I highly agree... IT SHOULD BE ON DISNEY PLUS!!! The sequels are. Why not the first and best one??!!!
Prince Achmed wasn't the first either. There was an Argentinean animated feature made several years earlier, but it's a lost film. Therefore Prince Achmed is merely the first animated feature that can still be watched, while Snow White is merely the first animated feature with color and sound.
Noone forgot little toaster, its just noone wanted to remember. Watching objects get crushed hurt. Pretty sure it was the race car getting crushed that horrified me as a kid.
I will never forget any of Don Bluth's movies. Not all of them may have been perfect, but I for one would rather have his 2D hand-drawn animated movies and video games still around today, instead of all the 3D and live remakes we get now. His movies helped prove that 2D animation is not just for kids, but for teens and adults too. It's times like this I wonder what life might've been like if Don Bluth won the war against Disney. P.S. You should really read his book Somewhere Out There. It's a wonderful story.

Awesome list! I could never forget most of these gems! Pretty much all of these were from my childhood and James and the giant peach, rescuers down under, mask of the phantasm, nimh, Balto and prince of Egypt are still among my favorites! I haven't seen watership down or thief and the cobbler, though I have heard of them. What ones I didn't see in theaters, I watched on tv, especially Disney channel, Cartoon Networks cartoon theater or vhs! Your right though, Prince Achmed is the only one I haven't heard of.
I like the Brave Little Toaster, but the Prince of Egypt was DWA's best animated film ever and I wish later animated films can capture such storytelling as this one!
The Brave Little Toaster trilogy, James and The Giant Peach, and The Rescuers: Down Under we’re all part of my childhood, but I do agree with Down Under, as it’s often overlooked by its predecessor, which is an iconic movie!!!
I’ve shown my kids (8 & 4) three of these: Secret of NIMH (a personal favorite I own on DVD), Rescures Down Under, and Race for your Life Charlie Brown. Others you missed Bluth’s The Hobbit and Return of the King! Loved these ones!

Honorable Mentions: well of course Tiny Toon Adventures Vacation is say... a helluva fun vacation. Thief and the Cobbler is indeed a fun, trippy movie and best the Recobbled Version and not the boring one including Matthew Brodrick. Balto is historically inaccurate than the history books had said otherwise but ya cant really hate how the movie was played.
I have seen The Adventures of Prince Achmed. It's a rare gem and must be witnessed. I'm actually partial to the animation style so I dug up this animation gem but it truly blew me away. Do watch it.
I can't say I've seen THAT particular Brave Little Toaster but I definitely remember it, to the point where I went to Disney+ and watched one of them (it was the one with the animal testing; I almost watched Goes To Mars as well, but decided not to since a song in it would make me cry as a kid).
I love Prince of Egypt but there’s also Balto, Don Bluth Thumbelina, Brave Little Toaster, Princess and the Goblin, Pebble and the Penguin, Once Upon a Forest, Fern Gully, Tom Jerry, The Last Unicorn, Little Mermaid 1975, The Swan Princess
never forgot any of these movies, they stood out from the norm and were interesting to watch. each of these movies are underrated as a whole, especially Rescuers Down Under.
Have recently watched Rescuers and Down Under with my kids. Definitely time to introduce them to James and the Giant Peach and Tiny Toons Adventures, maybe even Brave Little Toaster.

I mean... imagine the works of Aaron Douglas and you mix them with Art Deco, some hints of Art Nouveau, and have the whole thing animated like it's a Wayang shadow-puppet show!

Tim Curry singing Toxic Love was the absolute highlight of the movie.
FernGully was like the cartoon version of Avatar, it was truly a great and heart-warming movie. I remember it very well.

The Brave Little Toaster was my favorite movie! I even got the DVD a couple of years back in the discounted movie section of Walgreens.
I'm honestly a little surprised that Fern Gully wasn't on the list. I feel some films that made it on the list were more popular. Guess it was forgotten by the folks writing this list too!
The Rescuers Down Under is my favourite movie growing up. Too bad it doesn’t get recognition.

My wife and I just rewatched James and the Giant peach last weekend on Disney plus I remember watching this in theaters when it first came out.
I've watched The Adventures of Prince Achmed and man it is a sight to behold; one of the best adventure movies I've ever seen. I came across it after watching Michel Ocelot's silhouette animation movies. I can't believe this much charm can exist in one of the first animated movies, from 1926. Kudos for keeping it in no.1 position.
Brave Little Toaster?!! I can never forget that movie! That was my childhood right there. Watching it again today I now understand alot more of the jokes and adult humor thrown in. And yes, I highly agree... IT SHOULD BE ON DISNEY PLUS!!! The sequels are. Why not the first and best one??!!!
I for long time thought that Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first traditional animated movie!
Prince Achmed wasn't the first either. There was an Argentinean animated feature made several years earlier, but it's a lost film. Therefore Prince Achmed is merely the first animated feature that can still be watched, while Snow White is merely the first animated feature with color and sound.
PRINCE ACHMED is definitely on a must-see list (got to admit, I was surprised to see you included it)

Watching objects get crushed hurt. Pretty sure it was the race car getting crushed that horrified me as a kid.
What still hurts me every time I watch it is seeing the lamp getting electrocuted.
I will never forget any of Don Bluth's movies. Not all of them may have been perfect, but I for one would rather have his 2D hand-drawn animated movies and video games still around today, instead of all the 3D and live remakes we get now. His movies helped prove that 2D animation is not just for kids, but for teens and adults too. It's times like this I wonder what life might've been like if Don Bluth won the war against Disney.
P.S. You should really read his book Somewhere Out There. It's a wonderful story.
Personally, Titan A.E. was my favourite Bluth film, and it saddens me that so few remember or acknowledge it.

So much so I still don’t consider Anya to be a Disney princess simply because she wasn’t originally adapted by Disney.
@@Rebelheart1985 No, she was adapted by Don Bluth. I thought it was a crime that they stole her from Don and put her in the Disney company. She will always belong to Don Bluth and she will always be a Don Bluth Princess, no matter what.

Awesome list! I could never forget most of these gems! Pretty much all of these were from my childhood and James and the giant peach, rescuers down under, mask of the phantasm, nimh, Balto and prince of Egypt are still among my favorites! I haven't seen watership down or thief and the cobbler, though I have heard of them. What ones I didn't see in theaters, I watched on tv, especially Disney channel, Cartoon Networks cartoon theater or vhs! Your right though, Prince Achmed is the only one I haven't heard of.
The Brave Little Toaster was one of my childhood movies. I didn't know it was that old of a movie, 1987.
I like the Brave Little Toaster, but the Prince of Egypt was DWA's best animated film ever and I wish later animated films can capture such storytelling as this one!
The Brave Little Toaster trilogy, James and The Giant Peach, and The Rescuers: Down Under we’re all part of my childhood, but I do agree with Down Under, as it’s often overlooked by its predecessor, which is an iconic movie!!!

I’ve shown my kids (8 & 4) three of these: Secret of NIMH (a personal favorite I own on DVD), Rescures Down Under, and Race for your Life Charlie Brown.
Others you missed Bluth’s The Hobbit and Return of the King! Loved these ones!
I'm sorry to contradict you, but Bluth had no implications on the dreadful animated sequel and prequel to LotR.

That was classified as the "Greatest animated film never made." I didn't know till a year ago that it had such a big case of production Hell. 28 years before it had to be released from cut versions of an unfinished workprint.
Great. List wish we could’ve seen Rock-a-Doodle, The Pagemaster, FernGully the last rainforest, Land before time, & We’re Back! A dinosaur story!!! Great movies

Thief and the Cobbler is indeed a fun, trippy movie and best the Recobbled Version and not the boring one including Matthew Brodrick.
Balto is historically inaccurate than the history books had said otherwise but ya cant really hate how the movie was played.
I have seen The Adventures of Prince Achmed. It's a rare gem and must be witnessed. I'm actually partial to the animation style so I dug up this animation gem but it truly blew me away. Do watch it.
I could never forget Prince of Egypt!!! The story itself is too amazing and the soundtrack is 🔥. Can’t forget Balto either

My kids rewatch "The Prince of Egypt" repeatedly, especially right before Pesach.
I can't say I've seen THAT particular Brave Little Toaster but I definitely remember it, to the point where I went to Disney+ and watched one of them (it was the one with the animal testing; I almost watched Goes To Mars as well, but decided not to since a song in it would make me cry as a kid).

I love Prince of Egypt but there’s also Balto, Don Bluth Thumbelina, Brave Little Toaster, Princess and the Goblin, Pebble and the Penguin, Once Upon a Forest, Fern Gully, Tom Jerry, The Last Unicorn, Little Mermaid 1975, The Swan Princess
never forgot any of these movies, they stood out from the norm and were interesting to watch. each of these movies are underrated as a whole, especially Rescuers Down Under.

Batman Mask of the Phantasm is one of my top five favorite movies of all time and it's my favorite animated movie of all time.

Have recently watched Rescuers and Down Under with my kids. Definitely time to introduce them to James and the Giant Peach and Tiny Toons Adventures, maybe even Brave Little Toaster.
"Forgot?" I've watched 8 of the 10 movies within the last year. The Charlie Brown one and the Prince Achmed ones I've never seen so haven't "forgotten" them.

Now "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" is what I consider to be a film I would want to check out, and I gotta say that its animation is one of the coolest animation styles I've ever seen, period! I mean... imagine the works of Aaron Douglas and you mix them with Art Deco, some hints of Art Nouveau, and have the whole thing animated like it's a Wayang shadow-puppet show!

I don't think A Bug's Life is forgettable since it's one of the first really big 3D animated films. However totally agree with the Tom and Jerry movie!! I watched that movie so many times as a kid but hardly anyone I know ever saw it!

I never forget ANY of these films. Besides, I watch "The Rescuers Down Under" quite a lot often.
