- Reasons to ditch your pick, there are a few I want to share with you in this video! A lot of my favourite guitar players play without a pick and I find they all have one thing in common, they're all super dynamic and expressive. I've always loved the sound of playing the guitar with my fingers and in this video I want to share a few things that'll help you get started and make your playing sound more expressive and dynamic.

I nearly always play without a pick, even if shredding - I both love the sound and expressiveness and I also feel kind of like there's nothing in between me and the guitar and so it just feels so right.
That’s really great man, I also love that connected feeling between the strings and my hand, it’s much more tactile and you can make your playing far more controlled and nuanced 👌🏻 I’m glad I’m not the only one!
as someone who for the past 8 years has probably played acoustic 80-90% of the time as opposed to electric, I picked this up pretty early into my playing, especially because i rarely used a pick in the first few years of my playing. Now I'd say I probably use a pick more of the time, but there are many songs in which i only use my fingers or alternate between them and a pick. I definitely recognize the quality of expressiveness in playing with your fingers that is lost with a pick, but for me it very much depends on the song
i do love the suggestion to switch it up when youre feeling a bit creatively stumped
