I own this exact instrument. The only difference is she came dressed in ALL BLACK. I’ve heard great things about this guitar and decided to try it out, myself. And boy, was I amazed with what I have experinced! If I can describe this instrument with one word, that would be QUALITY! QUALITY in every aspect! Congrats to you man for making it shine even more through your delightful playing style!
I've loved the look of the Yamaha SGs since the first time I saw Santana play one. My unicorn SG is the SG-1000-24. On the 24, the pickups are closer together and when they're both on and are split, it's a great strat type sound.
Love Yamaha guitars. My first was SC300t and I wish I still had it. Neck was destroyed 25+ years ago. I still have my Yamaha acoustic though! Beautiful playing and beautiful guitar! Your SG sounds awesome!
Absolutely amazing playing skills!!! I own a number of Yamaha SGs (the SG 2000, SG 3000, and even the rare SG 25) and these guitar with the Spinex pickups are likely the most unknown or under rated guitars ever made. Yes, they called them the Les Paul killers, but I would guess most guitarists are unaware of what someone like yourself can generate with them. I always said that if only could keep one of my variety of guitars it definitely would be one of the Yamaha SG series because of it's versatility. And... if I could play as well as you have demonstrated here, I would have never worked a day in my life and instead would have shared such a gift with the world. Thanks for putting out this video.
Oh man!!! This sounds incredible. Amazing playing man. I have always been a huge fan of Yamaha guitars, I have always thought they feel and sound great. Awesome to hear you enjoying yours!:) \m/
They are fantastic indeed, but they don't have the same prestige or perceived "coolness" as some of the other guitar makes. However, if you can get over that, then you get to discover the sheer joy these instruments bring. Thanks for watching, best wishes.
Congratulations on your purchase, one for the connoisseur. And some nice stunt playing😁Yamaha make some great guitars - I've been admiring the P90 Revstar for a while, but I don't think Senior Management would stand for yet another guitar coming into the house 😂
That is a really nice guitar Chanan. It sounds like you know how to get a good range of useful tones out of it judging by those excerpts of you playing here. New guitar day is awesome isn't it! Tidy job butt :)
Those are absolutely great instruments, the double cuts makes them super versatile. I’m very fond of mid 80s Ibanez ar 300 and also the am205 which is a small mahogany semi, thus not too heavy
Wow, you are a tasty player, congrats on the guitar! I've always admired the Yamaha SGs but shied away because of the weight, and now I have a 9,4 pound Les Paul go figure 😆
Well spotted, yes it's Donna Lee. I was contemplating both the SG2000 and the SG3000, but they're not cheap, I can see why you wish you still had yours. Best wishes
Thank you. I'm plugged into a Focusrite Saffire audio interface that is going direct to Logic Pro going through a Mesa Boogie guitar amplifier plugin. I'm also using plugins from UAD which include the EMT 140, Roland Dimension D, Pultec Pro and 1176LN Compressor.
Hi Chanan, congrats on the purchase. I’ve been looking for someone to upload a new video on this guitar for a while. I bought the same model, but in black last October on a whim and unlike most my impulse purchases have not regretted it once. My friends couldn’t quite believe how resonant and how much sustain it has, they actually thought it might be chambered - not at over 10lbs 😂 The build quality is remarkable and if you get used, for how much they are new, you get an amazing deal (presumably because they’re lesser known the LP or strat) I like the fact they’re a bit under the radar too 😎 What made you decide to go for one of these? Nice playing! 😎 Tris
Hi Tristan, Yes they are amazing sounding guitars, and like your good self, I have no regrets about the purchase. The reason I bought it was because I wanted something "Les Paul" like, as I have a Tele, Strat and hollow body, so it was just a case of wanting something a bit different I suppose, plus I had a low budget Yamaha SG when I started out, a little bit of nostalgia there too. Best wishes.
A sound choice. Got my first Yamaha red label. In 69 and my first SG in 73. I wonder if yours has the traditional brass plate under the bridge pup . Good luck with it. Santana never sounded better with his.
I think the brass plate was installed on the SG2000 and SG3000, it was intended to generate more sustain I believe. You can certainly hear evidence of this in Santana's playing during the 70s.
Many thanks.

Designed in partnership with santana coming off his fusion era and became the guitar of choice for japanese fusion players. Such a great guitar.
I know low action helps but that's fantastic guitar playing, that proves you can combine speed with feeling.
Love it, awesome tone on that guitar too.
Many thanks.
A great instrument in the hands of a great musician. The perfect combination...
You're most kind, thank you.

Beautiful. I just got a new 1802 [P90s version] gold top, and it's by far the nicest guitar I've ever played.
Great tasty playing as always . Love the guitar, enjoy ❤
Many thanks and best wishes.
Wow! Great playing; great sound. That's you're guitar dude!
Erratum: "your" not "you're" ( although in some ways you are a guitar.) Carry on!
Thank you so much.

[" Love it. That is some great playing on a lovely guitar."]
Thank you very much.
Picked up a '79 Yamaha SG800 last year on a trip to Japan for a steal (missing pick guard) but its amazing; They are beefy but the just play so well
Lovely aren't they.
Geez...one word. Beautiful. Guitar. Playing. and information...Okay that's 4 words. Thank you Mr. Hanspal.
You're welcome and thank you for watching.
Killer playing.
Thank you.
Love Yamaha guitars.

Yes they are wonderful guitars and somewhat underrated. Sorry to hear about yours. Thank you very much for your comment and for watching. Best wishes.

Thanks for sharing. Yamaha make fantastic instruments. Sadly underrated in the guitar World and they make great guitars. Here's one proof for starters

Your left hand is flashy af but that right hand is FLABBERGASTING. So little movement, it looks like time-lapse vfx. Amazing.
Thank you.

Senior management needs to go

Lovely guitar. I'm jealous!
At times I was picturing George Benson, has that same tone. Thanks for sharing

Good play , beautiful tone …

In 1980 I bought a brand new Yamaha SF500 for £275...it included the hard case too. I obviously will never sell it. It's an amazing guitar.
👍
Lovely guitar mate
Thanks John.
You sound good together....
Many thanks.
As Andy Partridge said in your interview with him: "I've never heard a Yamaha guitar sound that good!"
Thank you Charles.
Dream guitar tbh
👍
@@ChananHanspal how are you getting on with it 8 months later?
donna lee solo cool :) i had a SG 2000 old one i think, wish i still did :)
Well spotted, yes it's Donna Lee. I was contemplating both the SG2000 and the SG3000, but they're not cheap, I can see why you wish you still had yours. Best wishes
Would love to hear more Donna Lee
A very versatile guitar. BTW: nice backing tracks to solo over.
Yes it's a great guitar, so many tones to be had.
What a beautiful partner - I wish you both many years of happiness together!
Ha, ha, thanks. Best wishes
Great sound!!
Thank you.
Wow. Some brilliant wonderful lines there. Love your tone as well. Are you using a modeller or amp?
Love the way you abuse those frets
Many thanks.
God damn you can play that thing!
Many thanks.
Dude's got chops. Very impressive. I'm now subscribed!
Is this the same guitar Matteo Mancuso plays?
😄太棒了!! 👍👍sg1820的聲音真好聽!! 請多多展示!!
Thank you.
Heard a little Jimmy Herring in that last bit. Nyce.
Question: Is that a tube amp your using or the digital stuff? Lots of great tones there.

What brand are your sg 1820 guitar strings? What is the thickness number? Thanks
D'Addario EXL120BT, balanced tension 9-40s

Not sure that guitar deserves you😊 i love the XTC Videos!
You're very kind, thank you.
More performance videos please.
Maybe a Guitar, Bass, 3 piece drum kit trio...live?
I'll try. Thanks for watching
My one of that same model is so much better than my recent Gibson 50s Les Paul. Great playing BTW.

Steve Jordan on drums?
Interested to understand your set up. Are you using amps/pedals or monitors/plugins etc ? - You have some useful tones going on :)

@@ChananHanspal Thanks for a comprehensive answer Chanan 👍

Wonderful! my first guitar was a Yamaha, not sure why they get a lot of raised eyebrows
Many thanks.
🙏
Thank you.
I see SG … I see McGeoch. 😉
👍
Great guitars, I don't think that my 1820 will ever sound this good unfortunately.
So we'll played
Many thanks.
