- Testing of Sofirn SD05, The best budget diving light on the market. Up to 2300 lumen in high mode, with magnetic switch and compact size the performance is on par with other big brand with a fraction of the price. Taken during my dive in DLagoon Perhentian Islan, Malaysia. Tested until 20 meter deep and shot on GoPro Hero 4 Black.

I have the same flashlight. The switch on wheel is getting stuck very bad while trying to operate it. Any idea how to loosen/ lubricate it? It’s less than a year used and I think the sand particles that go in are making it difficult to turn.
Sorry bro not really sure how to loosen it. I guess that is a problem with physical magnetic switch like this. Great for water resistant but need to keep away from sand
How long is the runtime in maximum mode. Which battery was used? Thanks for the answer!
I didnt really notice the step down while diving as the water conduct heat really well. If used on land it will step down after about two minutes. Total runtime was not tested yet because i charged it every night after a day of use but so far i have used it for 4 consecutive dives in a day on a single charge with no problem. Batttery used was sofirn 21700 that came with the set.

If you need a dive torch the SD05 is hard to beat within its price range. Ive known many dive professionals who dive with this for many years. If you require lights for underwater video on the other hand I'd suggest something with wider beam angle.

Max depth ive tested this light is around 30m with no issue. Just remember to properly lube and maintain the o-ring, you shouldn't have any problem

Were you using this on "turbo mode" the whole time?
No i didnt use much turbo here, most of the shot are on medium mode. Turbo is too bright for such close proximity.

Torch is not good for video. The center spot is burns out.
it is definitely not built as a video light, the beam angle is too narrow. its more suitable as a handheld torch or as focus light on your camera rig
