    Good news for graduating students:
    I have been presenting SPSS and Research Methodology tutorials that can support you through the Melaku Mathewos TH-cam channel. As a result, requests of advice I receive from students on private research matters have become more and more. I am pleased to announce that I have prepared an Online Form named Eadvisor to answer these questions in an organized manner.
    Therefore, in addition to my tutorials, I would like to ask you to fill out the form by clicking on the link below if you would like to receive any research consulting services.

For example, my Independent variables are slope and land uses(means conserved and un-conserved lands) and my dependent variables are selected soil physico-chemical properties like Soil texture,bulk density,soil ph,Soil organic carbon,organic matter,total nitrogen and etc.Please!give me a clue about this.

    • @melakumathewos
      @melakumathewos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear Negesu, thank you for the feedback. Considering your question you don't need any special way of analysis for your soil laboratory data. It can be correlated, regressed, and analyzed with any other usual tool. But, if you have any difficulty, please let me know.

      Amen dear brother,
      SPSS analyzes a wide variety of data. However, which analysis tool to use depends on data type (qualitative or quantitative), Normality assumption, researcher choice, and others. Therefore, l can not say this and that should be included. But, if you have more specific questions let me know.

    Hello Melaku ! first of all I want to say thanks for your tutorial. next ------ when I use the spss it contains missing value .. what is that??? so it becomes (total=n + missing value), n=number of datas what I have!!

    • @melakumathewos
      @melakumathewos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Missing data, or missing values, occur when you don't have data stored for certain variables or participants. Data can go missing due to incomplete data entry, equipment malfunctions, lost files, and many other reasons. In any dataset, there are usually some missing data. In SPSS, “missing values” may refer to 2 things: System missing values are values that are completely absent from the data. They are shown as periods in the data view. User missing values are values that are invisible while analyzing or editing data.
      Sometimes there are known cases of the missing value. For example, one of your respondents may refuse to answer one of your questions, let's say age. That time when you enter age data into SPSS you are compelled to skip the age of that respondent who was not volunteer to tell his/her age. When you analyze the age variable the system identifies a missing value. Ex. If 10 respondents told you their ages and two refuse, you have two missing values. Your total samples are of course 12.
      Hope this helps
      if you don't understand it yet, let me know!

    Hi mati thanks for all.
    I What your help, I am insert data but the analysis tabel not display by code, eg age I was use 30- 40 to insert data 31,39.., how to solve this bro

    • @melakumathewos
      @melakumathewos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Click on the variable view
      2. Go to your age variable
      3. Go horizontal along the age variable and find "Value"
      4. Click on it and give the value number and label. Once you finish click on ok.
      5. In the same line go to measure and set it ordinal
      6. Come back to the data view and in the age column enter numbers you used for age group in variable view
      Hopefully, it works now. If it not let me know.
