I think the real problem with TLOU2 is that it purposely sets out to divide its audience. Niel knew Joel dieing early into the game would ruffle feathers, but he cared more about pressing a thought piece rather then a game that would satisfy its audience.
Their Alien Isolation review really annoyed me back then. I was never a big horror fan enjoyer because to me most horror games were just boring. Alien Isolation was the one game that really got me on multiple occasions and I loved it for this. I still think it's one of the best horror games ever made, causing IGN's review of the game to be the worst review I have ever seen in my mind 😅
I honestly find this game reviewing thing insulting. They get paid for this? Every single of these reviews feels like the reviewer's mood that day was what contributed the most to the final score. The takes are so shallow that literally anyone who playes video games could have written them. Do they just pick people off the street and pay them to play video games and write a high school level essay?
It wouldn't really make things better. In my eyes, half of the game's plot needs to be re-written in order to make it good. Which is pretty much fixing director's and writer's mistakes, instead of making a good story from the start.

The last of US II is one of the sh+ttiest games to me. It shows how biased and WOKEness and racism against Asian people in SONY cultural under WOKE sh+t.
The word 'woke' originated from black Americans before the civil rights act calling out violence done against them, before people like you started using it in that mocking form. Keep that in mind the next time you accuse others of being racist.

I have a pet peeve. I think a price (perhaps with the exception of some individual cases like full price games with predatory microtransactions) should not be a factor. A review should be an assessment of the game, not a guesstimate about reader's financial situation. Why? Because it varies wildly between individuals. Some simply cannot afford a $10 game, for some a $500 expense is nothing. As long as we get accurate information about the product, each of us can then evaluate whether it is worth the price without anyone else's input.
Regarding The Last of us Part 2, Nakeyjakey is an interesting take on it from someone who was disappointed with it, and The Closer Look also has an interesting take on the story. I would love to see your reaction to NakeyJakey since you like the game. Nakeyjakey in particular helps to give likely the mentality of the common gamer out in a very well thought out and comical manner, considering many felt like him in regards to the sequel. While the Closer Look critically points out some flaws of the story and how it could have been restructured or retold to be far more powerful and keep the same spirit and goals of the story while maintaining all the important story elements that played out in the game.
joel's murder scenario should have been a story split choose abby: default TLOU2 choose joel : a certain somebody would spring a rescue and then joel goes on a raving "returning the earlier favor journey" (which the devs clearly did not like)
I dont remember the score but one of their reviewers gave the resident evil 2 remake a low score because he was mad it was too short. The guy reviewing it didn't realize both characters have seperate scenarios.
reminds me of the reviews of Rain world loved by players but hated by critics like seriously? 6.3? for this masterclass of a game? with easily the greatest enemy/npc AI of all time?
If they made this video sooner, I’m sure Callisto Protocol would have made the list. Giving that tedious Frankenstein of a game a 7 was WAY too generous.
I feel like the last of us part 2, is just a 7-8 out of ten. I certainly liked a lot of it, but it just felt too depressing and kept on trying to hammer in the point that "revenge and murder are bad"
As bad as IGN reviews are, I can't help but notice the inconsistencies between some of these. If people are gonna defend Death Stranding by saying "it's the point" (I agree) then why can't they make that defense for TLOU2 ? I haven't played it but a lot of the criticism of this game seems very childish from an outside perspective.
I treat Last of Us 2 like Borderlands 3. An extremely questionable plot, but somehow still a major upgrade compared to the previous game and *really* fun. LoU2 can tell me killing is icky all it wants, I’m gonna get silenced pistol and go crazy.
See, here's the thing. I actually agree with the Pokemon review saying there's too much water. I live by the seaside, so I enjoy that. But it's true, and it's been true for generations. There's way more water types than any other. And since a lot of Pokemon is modeled after Japan, an ISLAND NATION, that sort of makes sense. There is an imbalance in typing, in multiple ways. Heaps and heaps of water types, Ice just being objectively bad at everything. And Gamefreak rarely does anything about it. But I wouldn't ding any ONE GAME SPECIFICALLY for this. That's more of a critique of the franchise. And it's not worth docking points over. It does deserve to be a meme, though.
I'm not one to really care about review scores. Hell, I enjoy Sonic Unleashed more than most modern 3D Sonic gamed despite what reviewers and fans may thing. But there are times when I roll my eyes shake my head at their reasoning. To this day I still remember a review site that reduced Grand Theft Auto 5's score because they did not like playing as criminals. Now I haven't played GTA5 to competition, but isn't that the point of the series? Instead of playing as a cop or detective, you're playing as a criminal, which makes a lot more sense when it comes to how interactive the world in that game appears to be.
I feel that TLoU2 would have been far better recieved if you started the game as Abby, rather than swap to her at a point where player's vitriol at her was at it's peak.
TLoU2 is at best an 8. Controls, inventory management and Ai were the weakest parts of the OG game and after so many years weren't updated adequately for the sequel. The story took an unexpected turn for sure yet wasn't bad as a whole but the pacing and messaging was completely off. On top of all this the devs were fanning the flames and bunching the legitimate criticism in with bigoted views.
I do think scores are outdated and redundant in general, because it better listen and watch, then make you own opinion anyway. Mandalor is great example - showing all aspects of the game, sharing some info and his thoughts, then and let you wrap it up by yourself. Plus it always weird to me, then some people compare scores. I kind of get it then its the same genre, but even then, how did you compare, for example, Carmageddon vs Nfs, or CoD vs Max Paine? At IGN case, it even more confusing, because how they +- some scores based of absolutely random things.
i think about it like an adult man but honestly nah man nah the whole cycles of revenge thing The last of us tried to pull was really poorly executed i mean Druckman really wanted to give abbie the moral high ground constantly trying to make it sound that when abby took revenge it was joel's sins creeping in but when ellie took revenge was horrible and bad and awful, the character they give to her father was really awful too i mean im ok with the guy being the doctor but at the same time trying to parade him as a good person who can do no wrong while he literally is insisting on killing a child and not telling Joel also i won't lie Dunkey is really dickish to anyone who disagrees with him and he honestly quite petty and has done things similar to the IGN reviews (ask xenoblade fans about how dunkey literally spoiled the endingto the newest game and made fun of them and when the fans were justifiably upset he used a prank channel excuse of "i was just joking")
Doom 2016 had better immersion, and level design if you enjoy realistic arenas. Doom eternal had better gameplay , and level designs if you enjoy arenas to be designed around perfecting your combat experiences rather than a realism aspect.
I hear the guy they got to review Alien isolation, was a guy who particularly doesnt like the Alien franchise, and also doesnt think much of horror games either... Ign critisizing a kids platformer for being too easy is PAINFULLY ironic, looking at the infamous CupHead tutorial. No mention of God Hand in here. Ign's review for God Hand spawned the "Imagine Babys is a better game than ..." meme. Looking at the review, you can tell the reviewer didnt even attempt to play past the first stage. The company just has an abysmally bad history of not chosing the right people for the job. One persons trash is another mans treasure, so get a group consensus or something for the sake of professionality.
I know it's a joke, but I do hope you don't actually think the people who dislike TLOU 2 are just whiny babies and who are not thinking about it like adults. If you like the game that's fine though, but to me its just average. The story is far worse with characters that are not fun to be around, almost insulting and the gameplay is more of the same.
I played Days Gone well, well after its problematic release and I really do wish it had a chance to be judged for its own merits and flaws. I personally enjoyed it and thought it even had some really interesting takes on world exploration and enemy horde mechanics, but it definitely had issues. I guess, much like games like Cyberpunk, it's hard to have the game be judged on its own if it has a technical flop on launch.
The newer CoDs can be very fun in a Casual setting. MW2 in my opinion is a 6.5 on a casually played gameplay experience. It's good, but nothing to write Home about. But 9.2 for BO3 Shows that Activision clearly Put a hefty amount of Money into a positive review...Like wtf.
To be completely honest, I kind of agree with Days Gone, while I haven't played it myself, from what I saw in some gameplays, the main plot of the story (I think of the main plot as the zombies, not personal life) is very good, but the rest is kinda meh. The features like the slow-mo being there for 'no reason' is idiotic though, not gonna lie I hope she said something similar about Micheal's ability in GTA 5.
IDK, maybe I'm just old, but for me game journalism is dead for a long time already, gamergate was the last drop that showed that these people just life on a different planet from gamers and their reviews just have no value at all.
Seems strange to me to have a company that is digital games and media company not have people that play games, review games. That's like having a miner reviewing the quality of marine biology.
To me, the worst will always be the Polygon video on "Hot Dogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades". Which is a VR gun simulator game where you shoot anthropomorphic hot dogs. But the Polygon video is just the guy standing there not knowing how a gun works on even a basic level that most people pick up from playing video games and watching movies, and rambling about how much he doesn't like guns. Another really bad one from Polygon was a Rock Band 4 preview event write-up. Where it's basically just the person writing talking about how much they don't like fun. With a quote that will always live in my head rent-free in "I'm just pressing buttons and my life has no meaning"
Look no matter the opinion on Last of us 2, the fact that it got a 10 helps show how poor there number ratings are. I don't know about you but I'd assume a 10 out of 10 would be one of the best games of its genre, that anything else unless its topped could get is a 9.9. All that to say, numbered ratings are such a bad way to do game reviews XD They have something there with listing pros and cons but giving a number is what kills it cause people just focus on that.
I can see how one can like Tlou2, the gameplay was ok at least and it did look very good. But even if somehow you loved all of the aspects of it... A 10?! After mfs gave Alien 5.9? Nah, man, thats a common ign L, no matter if you like the game or not, it was NOT 10 by any standard.
To be perfectly honest Black ops 3 on release didnt deserve it but current/the game with all of the content does deserve it(Even though Zombies carries it hard)

When it comes to the Shin Megumi Tensei, at least my personal experience with SMT Nocturne (hope i spelt its name correctly), it's like a mix of persona and dark souls i swear. The combat is similar to persona because duh, Persona is a spin off of SMT. It was a VERY difficult game for me, i know it's a sin but one and the only thing i can agree with IGN on is that it took me so fucking long to get onto the story but i feel that's just how SMT can be. I mean hell, persona 5 is like 90 hours so it'd make sense if an smt game took as long if not longer
Tlou2 felt like they so desperately wanted players to like abby smash... but if it fails, then the whole game story is hugely flawed, because you have to eventually understand or agree with Abby smash at 1 point... but if you dont, its a awful story, clunky dialog, forgettable side characters that get killed off barely before i could remember their names, i ended up hating everyone Abby smash cuz she has paper thin character and i hated ellie cuz she shouldnt have treated joel so wrong when he clearly dud the right thing. He had so much patience with her teenage anger to him. I think the fact i and others have thought up re writes to make the story more believe able or better with only an hour or a few mins is really funny to me. Imo as an example, id have Abby smash be a new member that joel and ellie save and rescue from fungi zombies, they develop a common friendship, points thru the story theyll be split up, jorl anc ellie, ellie and abby smash and abby smash and joel. Then near the end Abby smash kills joel in revenge while joel is protecting ellie from her, ellie kills abby smash, joel dies from blood loss and ellie is the only survivor... Or in tlou2 at least shouldve given an option to kill abby smash if you hated her from the start, just saying.
To be very fair and honest I actually agree with the alien isolation one I never got the appeal of the game but the only reviews I actually take issues with only a few are the reviews for the outlast dlc and the review for little nightmares 2 they said there main issue with little nightmares 2 is that it's to similar to the original game but to that I say no shit it's similar because it's little nightmares what more could you want
I remember Death Stranding, it’s a running sim. It’s not fun, for me, and many others. I just think having the main character kill his mother as he watches her ask for help is kinda weird and awkward. I respect people who love the game, I just hate it.
The 1 thing I have an opinion about is the Last of Us 2 review. Of course a lot of people were going to dislike the Joel thing, and it's absolutely OK to dislike it. But you can dislike something happening in a game and still think the game is bloody good! When reviewing Last of Us 2, many people want the reviewer to have their dislike of the plot ruin the final grade, because the story was what kept most people playing in the 1st game. But if you remove yourself from the fact that you dislike the Joel situation, you can still see a good game with a good yet very tragic story. Could it have been executed better? ABSOLUTELY, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve high praise.
to be fair Bo3 is one of the Best Cods out there But it has some cons But a 9.2 comparing to other games Nah its 8 I would say and it should be the lowest compare to the other games
Cod huh...... imma be real, been playin almost all the cods, i think activision should take a year or 2 to fix up their shinenigens and realese a good game....
I once said that TLOU2 is an emotional hard game to handle, and that is made on purpose by the devs. and i still believe that many people still can't handle it. So many people, I thought were more intelligent were dropping this game midway because they couldn't handle it, not of a cutscene but in the middle of the gameplay. So many people would play the game and make excuses why it's bad in the middle of the cutscenes, and didn't payed attention, then started talking shit that the story doesn't make sense to them. I hope once they grow up, and look back to their reviews, they'll cringe so hard they'll to update their reviews.
I like that P5 image with P3 music combo, lmao. To be fair to IGN, I agree with what they say about XBC:DE. SMTV is also very mediocre and deserves a lot of criticism, so comparing it with Persona is just diluting the point and focusing on the wrong things.
TLOU2 is great, and the handling of Joel is one of the best parts of it. Most of the people who hate on it are just baby-brained, capital G Gamers who think killing a beloved character at the start of something (*cough* Sarah *cough* way more likable than Joel *cough*) is against "the rules" or whatever
Is it really that much of a surprise that people don't like having the same character they played through the whole of the first game die at the start only so it can be used as a reason for a revenge story that doesn't even end in revenge.

The core gameplay of TLOU2 is better than both, it's not an unbalanced mess like ER or clunky like TW3, stealth and shooting are both peak
@@knowledgeanddefense1054 Ah yes, TLOU2 shooting gameplay is a better core gameplay for a shooter game who would've thought
@@FriendlyGoblinWasTaken Except melee is arguably better here, too. And again, I was comparing the balancing and the stiffness
@@knowledgeanddefense1054 Balancing wise in Elden Ring the player is absolutely cracked so ye the balancing is pretty bad.
@@FriendlyGoblinWasTaken If you reach end game and you find early enemies easy or you can't beat the game that's not a game problem, that's a you problem
Trust me, TLOU2 is bad. Technically competent, but terrible writing. It's not just Joel being clubbed to death, it's many problems.
With how much certain types of people seem to hate games, you'd think that they would be the ones who would get out more
Alien Isolations AI is so advanced. It learns and adapts
... Are you sure you didn't play the role of Hightower in Police Academy movies?
WTF no mention of the IGN "God Hand" review 3/10 the one so bad that the Dev (MIkami) called them out when when showcasing of Vanquish
I honestly find this game reviewing thing insulting. They get paid for this? Every single of these reviews feels like the reviewer's mood that day was what contributed the most to the final score. The takes are so shallow that literally anyone who playes video games could have written them. Do they just pick people off the street and pay them to play video games and write a high school level essay?
my only problem with TLOU 2 is it was a story poorly told. Just rearrange some of the sequences. and were all good.
Nah. It needs some sirious rewriting in order to make it work.
It wouldn't really make things better. In my eyes, half of the game's plot needs to be re-written in order to make it good. Which is pretty much fixing director's and writer's mistakes, instead of making a good story from the start.
@@sethdarkness9257 Yeah. I was going to say that Abys plot needs to be redone but than I remembered many scenes that dose not involve her that was bad. So... yeah.
@@richardduska1558 There is enough scenes to be bad. But have to look at the story itself, with a simple question. What is plot trying to tell us here? With what they were going for, is revenge is bad, as it creates whole cycle around it. But the way it was presented (not even including gameplay of you killing many as Ellie, just to get to Aby.) was done poorly and very forceful.
@@sethdarkness9257 Yeah. The message just don't work.
The last of US II is one of the sh+ttiest games to me.
It shows how biased and WOKEness and racism against Asian people in SONY cultural under WOKE sh+t.
why are you like this
@@alondvorkin2762 Because we Asian are so furious by SONY WOKENESS and discriminate unfairly against us.
@@hidefreek6905 So one might say... you are woke to Sony's supposed racism? :)
Also, you do know that Sony is a Japanese company, right?
The word 'woke' originated from black Americans before the civil rights act calling out violence done against them, before people like you started using it in that mocking form.
Keep that in mind the next time you accuse others of being racist.
@@knowledgeanddefense1054 Ha, but now today using by criminals who don't want to work and be WOKE for free lunch money.
Believe in a Communism utopia that everyone gets a free meal and money without work.
Why Black Americans that, Black American Those? Then Watch those Black Africa who strive for work and diligence for their family.
They are trustworthy and respected by us Asian. We Asian respect those who hard work, A pure form of Capitalism!!!
Don't compare us to your delusion who believes in never existing utopia and just wants to bully other people in the name of WOKE.
While the Closer Look critically points out some flaws of the story and how it could have been restructured or retold to be far more powerful and keep the same spirit and goals of the story while maintaining all the important story elements that played out in the game.
joel's murder scenario should have been a story split
choose abby: default TLOU2
choose joel : a certain somebody would spring a rescue and then joel goes on a raving "returning the earlier favor journey" (which the devs clearly did not like)
I dont remember the score but one of their reviewers gave the resident evil 2 remake a low score because he was mad it was too short. The guy reviewing it didn't realize both characters have seperate scenarios.
I’m not sure how “too much water” isn’t fair. The point of a game can be punching the player in the face, but that doesn’t make it good.
the more I get into the video the more my migraine hits me like a shovel, not because of you friend, but because of IGN
reminds me of the reviews of Rain world
loved by players
but hated by critics
like seriously?
6.3?
for this masterclass of a game? with easily the greatest enemy/npc AI of all time?
Isolation may be the greatest aliens content outside the first 2 films smh 😂
Then, they release the review of Dwarf Fortress that's amazing, well written, and really personal.
That's just a case of "they got the wrong person to review the game" which happens ALL THE TIME with big game review sites for some reason.
As a doom fan .Doom 2016 is a very god boomer shoter but eternal is a god level boomer shoter.
At IGN case, it even more confusing, because how they +- some scores based of absolutely random things.
i think about it like an adult man but honestly nah man nah the whole cycles of revenge thing The last of us tried to pull was really poorly executed i mean Druckman really wanted to give abbie the moral high ground constantly trying to make it sound that when abby took revenge it was joel's sins creeping in but when ellie took revenge was horrible and bad and awful, the character they give to her father was really awful too i mean im ok with the guy being the doctor but at the same time trying to parade him as a good person who can do no wrong while he literally is insisting on killing a child and not telling Joel
also i won't lie Dunkey is really dickish to anyone who disagrees with him and he honestly quite petty and has done things similar to the IGN reviews (ask xenoblade fans about how dunkey literally spoiled the endingto the newest game and made fun of them and when the fans were justifiably upset he used a prank channel excuse of "i was just joking")
like 90% of the reviews are horrible from IGN.. 🤣🤣
IGN literally called a Yakuza 0 - GTA
The video on the Alien Isolation Ai by Ai and games is interesting in depth detail about how it works.
Doom 2016 had better immersion, and level design if you enjoy realistic arenas.
Doom eternal had better gameplay , and level designs if you enjoy arenas to be designed around perfecting your combat experiences rather than a realism aspect.
IGN's Ace Combat 7 review is one of the worst reviews I have ever read.
One persons trash is another mans treasure, so get a group consensus or something for the sake of professionality.
that mustache is nasty good i see you
They did Crackdown 3 so dirty
love you, take care.
I know it's a joke, but I do hope you don't actually think the people who dislike TLOU 2 are just whiny babies and who are not thinking about it like adults. If you like the game that's fine though, but to me its just average. The story is far worse with characters that are not fun to be around, almost insulting and the gameplay is more of the same.
will you make more reaction to the honkai impact animations?
The ign reviewers ain't gamers they don't play games for a living
Look I hate TLoU2 for how they showed the story and hate Abby, but the gameplay and environment was fantastic
Ngl i agree on uncharted 4. Ive played 1 2 3 4 and the last part really felt a little long.
I think Last of Us 2 feels like an excellent game that had it's story shuffled out of order.
God Hand Has Entered The Chat
To be perfectly honest Black ops 3 on release didnt deserve it but current/the game with all of the content does deserve it(Even though Zombies carries it hard)
31:35 Everything? If THIS is the best there is for gaming than I might as well quite the hobby all togeather because the bar is under the core of the earth.
Last of us part 2 is terrible for doing what they did to our boy. Its not redeemable after that.
1:01 Kotaku. That is all
When it comes to the Shin Megumi Tensei, at least my personal experience with SMT Nocturne (hope i spelt its name correctly), it's like a mix of persona and dark souls i swear.
24:41 Is he saying that Goat Simulator is not faithful to goats?

To be very fair and honest I actually agree with the alien isolation one I never got the appeal of the game but the only reviews I actually take issues with only a few are the reviews for the outlast dlc and the review for little nightmares 2 they said there main issue with little nightmares 2 is that it's to similar to the original game but to that I say no shit it's similar because it's little nightmares what more could you want
Screw anyone that says bo3 is terrible it's one of the greatest cod games with a great zombies mode also i like pokemon sword
The path of exile review was really bad
why do people hate Days gone? I liked it a lot, imo better and more fun than State of Decay.
Gen 8 is a good 8/10 for me
TLoUS2, a great gameplay, but with te most clichê edgy wannabe revenge is bad story that drags every thing down.
I enjoyed the last of us 2, I just didnt like the one character
Oh come on, Black ops 3 was fun
to be fair Bo3 is one of the Best Cods out there
But it has some cons
But a 9.2 comparing to other games
Nah its 8 I would say and it should be the lowest compare to the other games
the general consensum it's definitely not that days gone it's a good game. it's meh
What a bunch of jokers!
Cod huh...... imma be real, been playin almost all the cods, i think activision should take a year or 2 to fix up their shinenigens and realese a good game....
Last of us 2 game play wise fun story is garbage
I once said that TLOU2 is an emotional hard game to handle, and that is made on purpose by the devs.
and i still believe that many people still can't handle it.
So many people, I thought were more intelligent were dropping this game midway because they couldn't handle it, not of a cutscene but in the middle of the gameplay.
So many people would play the game and make excuses why it's bad in the middle of the cutscenes, and didn't payed attention, then started talking shit that the story doesn't make sense to them.
I hope once they grow up, and look back to their reviews, they'll cringe so hard they'll to update their reviews.
Hey if you think TLOU2 was a good game, more power to you.
Interesting.
i 100% agree with the last of us part 2 i realy liked it
but ...UPS simulator with a baby WAS a good game. 🤣🤣 that was a shite score bruh

Alien isolation was criminal.
They’re the reason we didn’t get a sequel
